View Full Version : New treatments for rotator cuff injuries (WSJ article)

January 23 Wall Street Journal ran a long article on something of interest to us all: new techniques for treating rotator cuff injuries. The article is fairly comprehensive, looking at different types of injuries (tears vs. other) and describing diagnostic procedures, treatments, costs, new materials or techniques (such as silk-based implants that act as scaffolding to support damaged tissues as they heal, suturing lump of patient's own centrifuged blood containing different growth hormones to injury site), what to expect postoperatively, physical therapy, use of painkillers, outcomes if surgery is postponed. A reference article for one's personal library. Perhaps it could be reprinted in the magazine?
