So, I see a few of you already into your 2008 SCY meet schedules. So, I got to thinking...I wonder who's going where this year?

This might be a great way to plan to make some new friends (drinking)/have some fun (drinking) with old ones once again...dang my (drinking) key is sticking again.
So answer the following questions and let the fun (drinking) begin::party2::drink:

1. What's your zone, LMSC, and club?
2. What meets are you planning to attend?
3. Are you going to Nationals in May?

Okay, I'll go first:

1. Dixie Zone, Georgia LMSC, Unattached
2. Meets:
- Auburn Masters Invitational, Auburn, AL 2/16-17
- St. Patrick's Day Invitational, Atlanta, GA, 3/15-16
- GA Northern Divisionals, Athens, GA, 3/28-30 (*USA-S meet)
- Gary Eaton Memorial Invitational, Atlanta, GA, 4/25-27
3. No to Nats for now. The Gary Eaton meet is my taper meet.

1. Dixie Zone, Georgia LMSC, SAVM/GAJA
2. Meets:
- Mt. Pleasant, SC 2/2-3

- GA Southeastern Divisionals, TBD, 3/28-30 (*USA-S meet)
- Hilton Head College Flashback, Hilton Head, SC, April 12
- I am sure we will have a few *USA long course meets in April too, usually Brunswick, GA.
3. Nationals, Austin, TX, May 1-4. (first time I qualified for more than just one event)

1. Colonies Zone, Virginia LMSC, VMST
2. Meets:
-David Gregg III Memorial meet - Richmond, VA, February 9 & 10
-Mad Dog Masters Swim meet (http://www.commonwealthgames.org/pdf/Mad%20Dog%20Entry%202008.pdf) - Roanoke, VA, March 15
-THAT Devil Spring Splash (http://www.ncmasters.org/forms/138-03.pdf) - Durham, NC, March 29
-Colonies Zone SCY Championship meet (http://www.patriotmasters.org/Colonies.April.2008.Entry.pdf) - Fairfax, VA, April 11, 12 & 13
3. No Nationals for me. The zone meet will be my taper meet. I need more speed before I'll travel to Nationals!!! (Although I am relatively close to NQT for LCM Nats in the 50 free! Figure the odds on that!)

Breadbasket Zone, Missouri Valley LMSC, MOVY Masters

Planned Meets:

3/1: Roeland Park, KS All-Courses, All-Relay Meet (all 3 courses contested, all relays available for each course with the exception of 200 LCM relays -- too shallow at that end). http://community.lawrence.com/movy/events.html

3/29 - 3/30 (attendance tentative): Ozark LMSC Spring Masters Meet, Lindbergh High School, St. Louis, MO

4/11-13 (attendance tentative): Colonies Zone Meet, Fairfax, VA

5/1-4: Short Course Nationals at Austin

Not very many meets, and the two middle ones require travel time, hotels, etc. so they are tentative right now. Nationals travel is a given.

I hope to attend:

March 15, Albatross Meet (Bethesda, MD) (SCM)
April 11-13, Colonies Zones SCY Champs (GMU, Fairfax, VA)
May 1-4, SCY Nationals (Austin TX)
June 18-22, IGLA Champs (U of Md) (SCM)

Long Course looks iffy this year. Bummer. Don't know if I can get to zones; not going to LC Nats.

Sure, I'm up for some gridge matches in any of the BR events. Looking at last year, you had me beat in the 50, while I led the 100 and 200. We could pick any one or go for all thee. It also looks like you're ahead in the weight category too. You said in another thread you went from 200 to 178 this year. I've gone from 226 down to 184 so far. My new goal is to lose 1/2 a Jayhawk, which if successful would get me down to 173.

Dixie Zone-NC

SCY:
1. March 1, Frank Clark Meet (http://www.ncmasters.org/forms/138-02.pdf) (Greensboro, NC - Grimsley). I think I'll be at this one. It'll remind me of all of those senior developmental sessions I shivered through at this pool when I was younger.
2. March 29, THAT Devil Spring Splash (http://www.ncmasters.org/forms/138-03.pdf) (Durham, NC). I've swum at UNC's pool many times, but this is the first time I'll get to take a look at Duke's pool.
3. April 19-20, NC Short Course Yards Championships (Raleigh?, NC). It's usually at Pullen Aquatic Center, but Raleigh has been stingy about allowing anyone to run meets there while Optimist is down for renovations. Maybe it'll be at this pool (http://www.triangleaquatics.org/)?

LCM:
4. June 28-29, State Games of NC (http://www.ncswim.org/ncs_data/images/NC08036AP-Meet_Info.pdf) (Greensboro, NC - Lindley Park Pool). An excellent opportunity to get shown up by people half and twice as old as I am.

I'm guessing pretty much even up, right? And the winner gets...:thhbbb:

I tried to look around for you, but all I found was some info through the Lake Erie LMSC http://www.lelmsc.org/.

The Lake Erie site listed "Allegheny LMSC (Team Pitt site)" http://www.psc.edu/~scott/tpa.htm (http://www.psc.edu/~scott/tpa.htm) under its "Swim Links."

After watching your 50 back video on youtube, I'm fairly certain you'll be able to kick my rear end. I too am going to swim the 50 back just because I want to become proficient in the backstroke and the fly (and for everyone else's entertainment:rofl:). I need all the experience I can get. I've been working on my SDKs so that I don't have to swim quite so far in the back!!!

I might be able to make something . . . hmmmm . . .

as for the Pirates - cheap tickets to take the kids to the games - they see some great teams that don't wear black & gold, eat peanuts & cracker jack - does it really get any better??

That's a good concept, but so far it looks like there is only 1 meet scheduled in Arizona this year:

I know what you mean...sometimes there's nothing...sometimes you REALLY have to dig.

- look in newsletters for announcements,
- past meet results (for probable upcoming meets)
- other links (AZ has a lot)
- individual team web sites (usually a best bet for their sponsored meets)
- neighboring LMSC sites, etc.
- contact one of your LMSC chairs

When I looked under Links/Teams/Ford Aquatics Masters (a biggie, I presume, but not sure if it's near you) here's what they show as tentative:

Ford Aquatics Masters Meet Info.(click on the meet info. you wish to view)

DATES MEET NAME / LINK & LOCATION
