8x last week and these workouts - you're in beast mode. Keep up the great work.

That sounds like a terribly hard double, Ande.

So you're going to nationals? What events are you training for?

    Thank y'all,
I'm gonna ramp up my race pace swimming & strength training around the beginning of March. San Antonio is definitely on my calendar.
I went to New Orleans with Beth, Dane & Tess, we did a little vacation and everybody got the flu shortly after getting home so we're pretty sure we were infected there.

Dec training was just survival and get back in shape. January's been better.

    Agree with Patrick.

You have had your best results when you were doing race pace training ...

I think it's difficult to be mentally ready to compete at a high level every year. And I can sympathize with you. I've having an off year and motivational issues myself. Don't be too hard on yourself!

    Ande,

There is plenty of time to get ready for San Antonio.

'sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip to College Park. We would have been in adjacent lanes in the 100 back and while you would have smoked me, I was looking forward to meeting you. I hope your troubles are soon behind you.

    That's a bummer.

Good to see your post again!

Nice swim! I really like those splits. Have you thought about competing in the 1500?

Oh golly shucks! I bet you were despondent over that loss

That is unbelievably fast, Ande! WTG.

Lift! I think my extended absence is really starting to have negative effects.

Kicking a distance like that so fast is incredible to me.

Congratulations on the 7 sec drop!

    thank you leslie
    I just walked in
threw on my suit and got in the water for my race
I found out after the race, Ross Davis said he grabbed the pipe under the block with a reverse grip

Nice swims, Ande, especially the 50 fly and 100 IM. Sorry about the 50 back. Racing with no warm up would suck and I had low grips as well.

Might do another one in late Nov / early Dec, haven't decided yet.

It was pretty tough but I didn't totally kill each 50 to hit an honest best average and on some I did 25 fast 25 easy,
I also did a double that day, came back at noon and focused on 25's in the 2nd practice
    on 1:00 & 55 i did 25 fast 25 easy, then did 25's on 45 & 40
    except for the last 10 where I did 10x50 FR on 40 and held 31's & 2's
