I thought that there was some NCAA rule where non-college swimmers couldn't train with a college team. Unless it is during the school year or something? I liked training with the Villanova swimmers this year. Yet, most of them were gone by mid-July.

Yes yes, I really need Ande and his frequent lane mate Tyler to put me in my place. After a workout with them, I would probably become a runner.

my goal is to not get last, I don't think very many swimmers slacked off this summer, maybe some in August
Yeah, Eddie doesn't recruit too many slackers.

Dallas to Austin is a bit of a commute to a Friday morning practice.

That's a butt-kicking workout majorly loaded with hard swimming. Nice going.

The U of Maryland College Park guys used to do that in the late 90s. They wouldn't train in the summer(the Philly area ones) and showed in Sept ok, I think. But, I can't imagine any self respecting swimmer showing up to UT without busting their hump during the summer. Isn't there some kind of UT commandment, thou shalt not slack off during the summer or do a taper practice when you aren't tapering.

They're doing a quadrathlon which is a fast 50 of each stroke for time.
The cherry on top would be a 100IM!

    Hey Speedo

    Leslie,
    I haven't done the P90X
I'm thinking about it & wanted ask swimmers who've done it
    I'll talk with Larry

my goal is to not get last, I don't think very many swimmers slacked off this summer, maybe some in August

thanks for the great advice, it's simple formula,
exercise more, aerobic & weight training, eat less

wonder if I can keep up with you if I wear a full body suit.

I asked Eddie if I could train with UT Men & he said YES!

    Stop eating so much.

    You owe me $200.

Swam with Doug Paul & Larry wearing his new FINIS full body
I wonder if I can keep up with you if I wear a full body suit.

When would you do P90X? How many minutes per day does it take?

    Hi Leslie,
thief, hope it helps you swim faster faster
it was pretty tough, you don't have to dive

    hey GDavis,
keep after it, [ame="http://www.usms.org/forums/showpost.php?p=191987&postcount=1269"]swim faster faster[/ame] works

    Rtodd,
    4 strokes fast
means take 4 fast strokes then swim easy to the wall
  14. rtodd's Avatar
    8 x 25 fl on 30 4 strokes fast
Ande, does that mean it was four strokes to the wall?

Ande -- Paul Smith will host a one day SCM meet at his lovely new facility in Mesa,AZ (just east of Tempe) on October 10th. Meet invitation should be out shortly. I haven't seen the pool, but Paul says it's killer. It might not be a huge meet, but maybe a good early season meet. Deep water all the way, I believe. I'll be there for at least and 800 or 1500 assuming I can balance attendance around a kids' meet the same day.

So what are your focus events for the SCM season?

I guess I'm going to have to give in and get a zipperless FS Pro kneeskin if I'm going to swim USA meets ... Blech.
