Hammering it out

I will be maintiaining the gains I have made with my kick this past year but will again focus more toward the distances again.

As always I modify workouts based on how I feel a particular day, so yes I give in to the pain when appropriate. I like the long sets and paddles are my favorite toy.

  1. Choices, Choices, Choices

    Next week the main lap pool at the Aquatic Center will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. My two choices are swim in the HOT 87 degree therapy pool or swim at the Y. The Y would require me to cut my workout short and I wouldn't really be able to start until after 5 am, then have to fight traffic or just suck it up and do stroke drill at the CCAC.

    I think I am leaning toward the warm pool for 2 days and use it as serious recovery days.

    As for today had a great workout. I think I will be ready for the meet this weekend.

  2. High chlorine level didn't stop us die hards

    Today the chlorine levels were on the real high side so the guards did what they could, warned us and then let us do our thing.

  3. Great workout at the Y

    Lately the Y has been great at 83 degrees. Managed a great distance pace workout.

  4. LCM Friday and I really got into this one

    I have a LCM meet next weekend so this was a good time to try my hand at a strong 1500 swim this morning.

  8. Nice and strong feeling today

    Today the water was cold so it made it easy to do a long hard workout just to keep the blood moving and the body warm.

  9. Good Saturday at the Y

  10. Long Course day and just got in to feeling my pull

  11. In honor of distance day at Y Nationals

    I wish I could go to Y Nationals but with Trying to get out of debt using Dave Ramsey's program, I had to make some tough decisions this year. I already have most of my national trip to California paid off, so that is the only major meet I will do this year.

    Still swimming the local stuff with the kids.

    Since this would be the day I would do the 1650 and the 1000 if I had gone, I decided to do a broken 1650 pull for time. Set my heart rate too high on this but did keep going since it was near the end.

    Today was an IM kind of day, just needed to do something a little different today. One of these days I might just do a 1000 IM, just to do it.

    Muscles hurting on my left tricept toward the elbow, but still not enough to cause me to stop.
