Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  2. Great swim today

    This was my first day in 2 weeks that I was not on-call at my job. I did a straight 1 hour swim SCY and was able to do 3900 averaging 1:32's. Finished with a 100 kick and a 200 EASY swim. Probably not enough but that was all the time I had.

    Friday I am going to do LCM and see how far I can get.

    My fly felt strong again. Free without paddles is a little strange but NO paddles for the next 3 weeks.

    I have been swimming just not blogging my workouts last week. Last day using paddles was Friday. Now I am paddleless until my swim. I have one more week of on-call which means this week is sets of 500 so I can check my pager frequently enough. I know this really bites for a distance swimmer.

    Today was the last day I could do a long swim for 2 weeks since I go on-call today. But since I really didn't feel well I decided to go with my body and take it easy.

  8. Last opportunity for a long workout

    Next week I go on call which means today and Monday are my last times to do some long swims before I have to check my pager ever 15 minutes. I'll be on call for 2 weeks. Not looking forward to it.

    Today I did really well with this even with setting my heart rate up a little to high on the last 1000. With having to do open turns and slower swimming for 4 laps my last swim was still faster than my first 3.

    Today was easy, I need that so that I can do tomorrow hard since it is LCM tomorrow. The first 400 IM felt terrible, the second one felt much better.

    Yesterday I could not stop eating. Really blew my dietbig time but I am going to try to correct that today. Started with an easy workout, hope the rest of the day goes well.

    This was a tough swim when you do the stroke work. I did alittle fly on some but mostly free.

    The really bad news is this is the last week of long course, next week we are back to short course.
