Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  2. Working off yesterdays lunch and tonights cake

    As in the title I was working off my lunch from yesterday and all the chocolate we enjoyed. Who knew adults would enjoy an old fashion easter egg hunt.

    This is going to be one hard weekend to keep to my diet. My sons birthday party is tomorrow, the easter dinner yesterday and I am sure a lot more good food.

  3. Have work out hard enough to work off the lunch I have plann

    We have our Easter Lunch at work today and I wanted to make sure I could eat what I want at this meals so had to work hard enough to already have worked it off. Tomorrow will be another hard one to work it off too.

  4. Middle of the week and I wanted to sleep

    This was one of those nights got to sleep fine and on time but woke up at 2:30 and laid there until about 3:30 then fell back asleep and did not want to wake up at 4:30.
    Does it ever get any better or is this what old age starts to bring me.

  5. Feeling good with the shoulders now

    Hopefully I am not saying this too soon but my shoulders seem to have adjusted to the change of training from sprint to distance and now I just need to work on getting faster again.

    I know, I know, I am not getting any younger but I will try anyway.

  6. Nasty weather for the outdoor meet YUCK!

    It was so cold I didn't want to get in at all but I had to set the example for the kids and I swam the 100 breast, only did a 500 warmup that day. no warm down, then had to do a relay. The flyer was in the water when lightening reared its ugly head and they pulled the flyer's out. We were in the lead, rats. I was filling in for a swimmer who got sick from this weather. Saturday night was colder and by the time it started raining and the wind was justing and cold they called the meet. The kids screamed with joy! so did I since I did not want to have to swim 100 breast again for consolation finals. Sunday we got warmup in then the bottem fell out and the thunder started. End of the weekend.

    Had a great hard distance workout today.

  8. Late this morning so only a short one

    Evil stroking it today since I am swimming 100 Breast this weekend if we don't get rained out. Where is the global warming, it sure is not here! Was late because I had to stop for gas. Daily chores.

  9. Swimming after not eating for a while

    Yesterday my swim was just easy because I felt so bad. Today felt much better even without having really eaten more than 2 pieces of toast yesterday.

    This was another easy workout but my times were much better.

    78 degrees in the pool this morning. YEAH!!!! Shocking when you dive in but fine after about 200. Since it was condusive to a hard workout that is what I did.

  13. Finally making progress with the weight loss

    Well since Feb 1 it is now 14 pounds off! This is a delicate balance of diet, exercise, effort level and recovery on the shoulders. I am hoping to lose 16 more before I settle in to my weight for LCM Nationals in August. Goal is to have this done by June.

  14. a late start today

    Had to get gas this morning so late to practice I went. Did set my heart rate off today that is why my 10x100 became 8x100. I only hit 190 though which is better than most but still very noticable for me.

  19. Another Distance Day - Long Course Rules

    This was a long course day so of course I chose to do distance. I normally would not have the snorkle on for a set like that but what I had planned and what I did were 2 different things. This is the nice thing about being your own coach.

    I was going to do a 400,300,200,100 set but desided since I felt so smooth to just keep going and make it a 1500.

  20. Recovery day, not! That evil stroke showed up

    Yes I did breaststroke today to really work my legs. Just needed a change of pace today. I was running late, had to get gas and just moving slow.

    Only my 3rd day under 190 pounds at 188.8, 10 pounds gone 20ish to go.
