Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  1. Laying on the backstroke today

    Felt like working on backstroke. For some reason when I do backstroke kicking I really engage my legs better than with any other stroke.

    600 back kick w/zoomers alternate by 100's streamline, fashion model, arms perpendicular

    8x25@:40 free w/paddles hold with finger tips don't wear them

  2. Butterfly work

    Needed a back loosening day so butterfly to the rescue.

  3. Bug spray on deck...I can't breath

    Someone must have had a birthday party at the pool because the deck was covered with ants. The spray just made it that much harder to breath.

    I am growing tired of the 1:30am pages from a stupid computer system that can't stay up. Tomorrow is long course with the fast lane I have to get some sleep.

  6. Sleep Swimming thru warmup

    I got paged last night at 1:30 and worked till 2. I am the queen of sleep swimming. Just swim and when thru your closed eyes it starts getting lighter just open long enough to turn and go back to sleep. That is the nice thing about the positioning of the lights in our pool, right at the sides.

  8. The one hour postal

    This was the last day I was not on call so I got it done. Had some issues the last 5 minutes with pushing my heart rate too high so had to switch to back stroke, thus limiting my ability to hit 4000 in 1 hour.

    Went 3875 in one hour followed by 125 EZ to make a total of 4000

  19. Great meet and tried to do a recovery day but...

    This weekend my 100, 200 and 500 Free were about average but my 1000 Free yesterday was reminicent of 2011 times with a 13:17.57.
