Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  3. Can you tell my favorite set?

    Had to go to work early today so only got 1 hour in. I also felt a bit faster than usual.

  4. Just going thru the motions I think

  8. Strong back day today

    Took a little while to get moving but once I was into it wow. I realy need those warmups and warm downs as I realized this past weekend. The older I get the more I have to loosen up.

  10. An Awesome Meet for once

    This weekend was my best meet this year. Went into it with no expectations, no taper and did proper warm ups and warm downs from my events.

    The 100 Free was ok with a second best time, but I followed up with a personal best in the 100 Fly by 4 seconds! Even won my heat. The 50 Free was my 3rd best time but only the 3rd time I broke 33 and also placed 19th in that one.

    The next day I had a decent 100 Back and 200 Free but the 400 Free was my second best time and is very close to me best from 2 years ago. Won my heat on that one also.

    Over all a very successful meet with the kids.

  12. Oh My! I did alittle evil stroke today

    Not very often I do any IM or Breaststroke due to my knee issues but today was an exception. I needed a change and today my knee did not hurt.

    400 MI swim the free, kick the breast, pull the back and drill the fly
    400IM kick w/fins do breast last and remove fins
    200IM pull w/paddles & bouy
    200MI swim
    10x100@1:45 Free kick w/fins first 4 were 1:41's then managed to hold 1:35'2 for the rest
    400 Free w/snorkle, paddles & bouy good rotation and stroke
    6x50 from dive 15 meter breakouts then easy rest of lap
    100 Free easy

    Today felt good and I am ready for the meet, but unfortunatley I may not make the cut to swim the 400 at the meet. Too many kids signed up.

  19. See what happens when you get mad

    Started my warmup and the lane line started moving into my lane on #3 there my lane had closed up so I yelled at the guards to pull this lane out and put a new one in. Mark it defective and take it away. This is not the first time I have had to deal with this. After that I just went into serious distance mode to work off the fustration of having to help change out a lane line missing valuable workout time.

    500 Free kick w/fins while they were trying to get the new one in and also helped to put it in at around 300

    now I could work out
    10x200@3:30 Free w/paddles & bouy went 3:10, 3:06, 3:03, 3:01, 3:00, 3:00, 2:57, 2:58, 2:59, 2:53 decided to try and hold race pace while finishing my stroke on both arms
