Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  2. Relaxed day somewhat

    I am trying not to agrevate my injuries yet stay in the water and work thru them. The left elbow is still an issue so minimal effort there. Atleast for today.

    If tomorrow is long course.....FLY!!! Please let it be LCM!!!!

  3. COLD Locker Rooms...

    It is like they got the air conditioner on in the dead of winter. Our locker room has been so cold these last few weeks and I got tired of complaining. So what did I do.......Brought in a HEATER and Plugged it in while we swam.

    It only made a difference when it was blowing on me since all the system did was continue to aircondition the room.

  4. Kick Kick Kick

    Tried to keep things on the easier side today for my shoulders since I pushed fairly hard yesterday. What better to do than KICK

  5. No toys today

    Decided to do a no toys workout from my past. With only 100 more to go I did have to stop my heart rate hit 180, so I had to wait until my heart rate came down which took about 3 minutes but then I am back to normal and don't have to worry about it happening again. I have this when happen during allergy season and my allergies are in full force still.

  6. Nice swim today before the kids came

  8. Over booked lanes today

    They over booked the lane space today so I had to swim with the master group. Normally I train next to them but my own workout. Atleast their numbers were down so I just split the lane with Tamera and continued.

    It was Evil Stroke day today for a while.

  9. Winging it yet again

    Today I just decided as I went along so this workout is kind of all over the place. I really had no energy and with the rain outside it was hard to get out of bed.

    500 Free every 3rd 25 fly drill each one different
    8x25@:45 Fly w/paddles & bouy
    200 Fly kick w/fins kick on side alternate by 25
    100 Fly w/fins went 1:18 really did not have any energy on this one
    500 Free kick w/fins every 3rd 25 moderate
    3x[4x50 Free w/paddles & bouy
    ....[2x100 Free w/paddles & bouy
    ....[1 minute rest
    Round 1 on :50 and 1:40
    Round 2 on :45 and 1:30
    Round 3 on :40 and 1:20 made them all barely

  10. Very Crowded due to High School teams

    The pool was packed. I was lucky not to many lap swimmers were there so I still got my own lane but I know others were eyeing it. Some of the regulars I don't mind sharing with but they all know I will pass them down the middle of the lane if we are forced to cirlce.

    500 Back kick drills w/fins by 100's streamline/fashion model/partial recovery/arms perpendicular/streamline

  11. 5 Days off - unheard of

    I tried one night to swim in the pool at my hotel but too many kids were in it. Oh well after about 200 dodging flying beach balls I gave up.

    Slept in alittle this morning but still got in 3000.

  14. Warm Water and a quick workout

    Had only 1 hour this morning before the kids arrived. With my back acting up Fly seemed like the best way to do it.

  15. Disappointing Friday --- Short course

    I was so looking forward to a good long course workout only to see the pool was short course today. YUCK!

    Yes it was that evil stroke that did it too me again. I really didn't feel like a hard workout but it became that for me.

  20. Day two was a little cooler in the pool

    Thank goodness the temp came down to about 80 which was fine.

    Was tired today but still managed a good 50 Free in 32.26 only off by .2 seconds. The 200 Back was ok but not great. I probably could have pushed alittle more but then I didn't want to.

    The 100 Free was supposed to be a just warm up for the 100 Fly but it turned into more of a race than I wanted. I went 1:13.27 not great but harder than I wanted to go.

    By the 100 Fly I was tired but since I have never swam it before this was a personal best at 1:34.72.

    Normally after this many events I am tired and the 400 Free was decent today but not great. went 5:45.24

    total was 2700 meters again
