Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  1. An old favorite with the monofin, can you say AB WORK!

    I decided to do some fly work with my monofin today. WOW that really worked my abs.

    Sometimes I think it would be easier just to get an easy job and lower my lifestyle. I might actually be happier. When you think about it you spend most of your life at work. Thankfully I have swimming to keep my mind off the stress for a little while.

  7. 1 hour swim today

    Just needed to do a long swim today so swam for 1 hour. Completed 3300 meters in that time then warmed down with a 200 easy.

    Next long swim will be July 7. I have to pick a week I am not on call at the hospital.

    It's official I am now a Swimming Official! Of course my swims this weekend were not the best but they were ok considering the amount and type of work I was doing.

    Just an easy one. I didn't feel particularly strong today so my 800 might be a piece of garbage tonight. That is ok since I am more focused on weight lose than speed right now.

    With the 800 on Friday I was thinking of just swimming easy till then but my I decided to swim in my normal lane instead. It was easier to maintain the 1:40 interval with my favorite toys. I guess I am getting used to it.

  17. A semi easy recovery for the shoulders

    This was a leg day for me and I worked them. I am torn in my wieght loss. I know I need to slim down in the butt and thigh area but then again that helps me float better.
    You can't have both.

    I am also on call this week at work so that means more stopping to check the pager.

  19. Bringing up the rear

    This was perfect a nice easy recovery swim and hot hot showers. Most people don't like when it is that hot but I do.
