Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  1. Shoulder getting better

    Sat with the Compex unit on for about an hour and that has helped. Will do it again today.

  2. Right shoulder having issues

    Decided to take it easy and reverse the motion with back stroke today. Also took time to use my foam roller to roll out my right back and shoulder muscles. I will probably also hook up to the Compex unit today too.

  3. Still sore from Friday, even after a weekend off

    I took this weekend off since I had to take my son to take his drivers test. He passed. Now I am really in trouble.

  6. Holding the lane

    Walt gave me one of his lanes and of course the kids wanted to take it but they didn't. He verified the pook had him paying for 4 lanes and that is what he got.

    Normally my lane would be tnext to the fast lane because I usually swam on a 1:30 interval, too fast for everyone else but to slow to join the 1:20 group. Always the odd swimmmer out.

  8. Good Meet and a great workout

    I scratched the 1650 this weekend, the water was too warm and the rain made it miserable. I knew that it was just going to get worse so... That allowed me to focus on the 200 fly where I beat times I haven't done in 5 years same with my 100 fly on sunday. Very good meet overall.

  11. I hate dealing with a place that over books its lanes

    I move out of the lap lanes because of slow swimmers (manatees and floating logs) and moved to an extra lane that masters had. Midway thru my set I get moved out of that lane in favor of a bunch of kids from a team who only come once a week. Why can't they come on a Tuesday or Thursday when there is plenty of lane space!

    Thanksfully Walt lets me swim in with Masters, but there are days I don't want to work that hard. Luckly today was not one of them but the next two days are. Meet this weekend.

  13. Felt like a sluggard today

    I just didn't have the speed I normally do on a monday. I was working on trying to get my trigger points worked out yesterday so alot of my muscles were sore like a deep tissue massage would feel like a day after.

  14. Saturday meet not bad

    Today I had a kids meet. Swam the 100 breast and 100 free. The breast was about what I did last year since I don't swim much breast stroke.

    The 100 free went very well with a best time since I turned 50.

  15. Easy Friday with the manatees

    4/5 people in one 50 meter lane, 3 can swim 2 can't. At least there were 2 others who could keep up with me sort of. We all were on a 2 minute interval for repeat 100's were I was holding 1:37's the next 2 guys were at 1:49 but then we had the ones who couldn't even make it in 3 minutes let alone 2. That is too annoying.

    With a meet tomorrow I was not going to swim in with the masters team. I wanted to take it easy.

  16. Trying to stop pushing the wall of water

    On my breaststroke I have a bad habit of pushing a wall of water in front of me as I swim so today I was trying to figure out what is causing that and how to stop it.

    I actually did manage to correct it on several laps of my 200 for time. Now the key is to make it habit which will take time. I will try again tomorrow since I am swimming 100 breast on Saturday with the kids.
