Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

    Luckly Julie and I are skilled at just splitting the lane. If we had to circle I would have been running over her and others.

    Today I also did my leg set that really does burn my thighs. Burn baby burn.

    This one hurt after yesterdays IM Pyramid. I did not have time to finish the whole workout but got most of it done.

  3. Did the IM Pyranid at the Y today

    It was warm about 84 degrees. I wasn't sure that I could finish the IM pyramid but I pushed thru it. Glad I challenged myself.

  4. Another Saturday at the Y

    Yes it was on the hot side but I was able to push fairly well despite the 84 degree temps. This is also the only pool open on Monday so I'll be there.

  5. Backstroke on tap and work those legs

    There is a new set I am doing frequently 10x50@1 kick w.zoomers maintaining 47 really makes my thighs burn good! I will incorperate that into my workouts atleast 2 or 3 times per week.

    I am starting to see the weight coming off now. The team tried to get me to go to breakfast this morning and I did but I did good. I ordered a bagel, egg, cheese and bacon had them cut it in half. At half now and will have the other half for lunch today.

  7. Distance and leg work, what a combo

    After my swims this weekend I know I need my legs and the area that was burning during my 200 fly was my thighs. There are some that say I don't kick, well if I didn't my thighs would not have hurt, right?

    Today was a freestyle distance day but I did work those thighs with a strong kick set.

  8. Fly away fun today

    It was raining, I was 10 minutes late cause I had to get gas but I still managed to bang out 3000 in 65 minutes. I love Tuesday's and Thursday's when the pool is empty. Why can't every day be like that?

  9. Recovery day or was it...

    Yesterdays swims went well but the 200 fly did not go like I had hoped. I knew I had to attack it more and I did, I died after the first 100. Oh well I will try again in February, March and April. A 50 free after the 200 fly is not a good idea, especially when my coach puts my time in at a 28 instead of the 30 I told him to use. The 400 IM went really well and I was really just cruising that one. I would love to see how it could have gone if I attacked it.

  10. A good first day of this kids meet

    I managed a great 200 breast considering I don't swim it much because of my knees. My 200 IM was 5 seconds faster than my best last year.

    Tomorrow is the 200 fly, 50 free and 400 IM to finish my IMX. I want to go 3:12.07 or better tomorrow in the 200 fly. Hopefully I can get there.

  11. Not confident about this weekends meet pool is 82.5 not good

    The pool is too warm for a meet let alone any fast swimming. I did feel better not being on Mucinex DM today. Since I had a pace swimmer next to me during warmup I could help but push more than I should have today.

  18. Sinus pressure still causing issues so tried a bunch of 25's

    Since sinus pressure was causing me issues I figured I would do a bunch of 25's but I found out the underwater kickouts and pull out for breast hurt just as much as a flip turn. Did I skimp on the pullouts and kickouts...YES!
