Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  1. Feeling tired and lazy, hope I can get motivated at the meet

    Just not that excited about the meet. I guess I have already gone into training for the Waikiki Rough Water swim and not that into doing other things right now.

  2. Saturday at the Y

    Saturday at the Y in 84 degree water was fine. I watchd a red bird trying to get in the windows. He flew into them, hopped on the sill, tried for the doors. He was just cold.

    As for my workout I worked my legs.

  3. Fridays in the fast lane some

    I started with the masters fast lane but then slid over to an empty lane but continued to do the workout.

  7. Day 4 of my mini fast

    The next few day will be survive the workouts, no speed needed. I have lost 5 pounds and got my morning blood glucose back down to below 100. I now have to really lose this weight. Goal is 170 which I have not been at since 2008 when I was swimming doubles with the kids.

  9. Tough friday beginning with a mini fast

    Needing to lose weight again and get my blood sugar back under control. I hate this battle.

    Swam in with the fast group on an empty stomach which is normal for a friday. Won't be able to eat until noon only coffee this morning.

  11. Laying on the backstroke today

    Felt like working on backstroke. For some reason when I do backstroke kicking I really engage my legs better than with any other stroke.

  13. Bug spray on deck...I can't breath

    Someone must have had a birthday party at the pool because the deck was covered with ants. The spray just made it that much harder to breath.

  16. Sleep Swimming thru warmup

    I got paged last night at 1:30 and worked till 2. I am the queen of sleep swimming. Just swim and when thru your closed eyes it starts getting lighter just open long enough to turn and go back to sleep. That is the nice thing about the positioning of the lights in our pool, right at the sides.

  18. The one hour postal

    This was the last day I was not on call so I got it done. Had some issues the last 5 minutes with pushing my heart rate too high so had to switch to back stroke, thus limiting my ability to hit 4000 in 1 hour.

    Went 3875 in one hour followed by 125 EZ to make a total of 4000
