Mixing it up this year

I really like my toys and will continue to use them. The mix will be both distance and sprints. My focus for this year is to maintain my 200 fly time.

  1. A preseason sprint workout

  2. Another slow day

    Just another easy day. Was unable to get a chiropractic appointment Friday so having to suffer. I did decide to do some fly to see if that would help and it did somewhat until my right hip is back in place I will have to deal with this.

  3. Starting to feel like I am recovering alittle

    This week I have been hurting not only from the drive back from Auburn but the fact I never recovered from the 1500 Free the first day of the meet.

  4. Had to work last night so I am tired

    Got in late due to over sleeping so had to cut the workout short.

    200 Free easy and experimented with bad stroke form versus good form so that I can demonstrate the difference to my new swimmers.

    It is hard to do my strokes that incorrectly, dropping elbows and head held high with low hips. It actually hurt to do it wrong.

  6. Still hurting and still swimming

    It will get better but I won't use the Ibuprophen this time. Keep it natural. Also had to get gas this morning which made me late.

  7. Hurting today

    Left shoulder is hurting as well as my back. Of course I tried fly but with the shoulder flair up that was out. So lots of kick.

  8. Last taper workout... I guess

    No intervals what so ever. Swam at the Y and did alot of talking and coaching instead of swimming too much.

    I am so uncoordinated between my stroke and kick on Free.

  10. Tired to do a pace set and yuck

    No energy what so ever. My 5x100 on 2 were horrid could not even hold pace which should be 1:30ish, was more like 1:34 with rest. I am worried about the 1500 at Nationals this might be a long bad swim.

    I have no clue if these sprints are fast or not but they feel much better than before and my starts are improving.

  15. A good sprint day WOW

    For some reason today I was able to sprint atleast 25 and feeling like I could go a 50 at that pace. I didn't want to push my luck. The pool was empty today, just the way I like it.

  16. I long for the days of good pool management

    Overbooking lanes is a problem at the Aquatic Center. Lap swimmers are people too and they deserve lane space with blocks! They nomally have 2 lanes to one team 3 lanes for another and 3 lanes for lap swim. they go and rent 3 lanes to another group taking one from the team with 3 and the remaining lanes.

    I know the teams and they are ok with me joining them but I am not doing what they do. I was also working on my starts and there are only 3 lanes with blocks that I had one and the team had the other 2. I just need to win the lottery and build my own pool!!!!!

    As I trotted over to use the lanes Robbins team was using I said "I long for the days you (Robbin) ran the facility". He of course said thats for the compliment.

    Oh well. That was my rant today.

  17. Dragging again today

    We I got home last night the yard had still not been mowed so I went out and did it. My son who had been procrastinating comes out and says "I'll do it" I told him I had been waiting over a week for him to do it, "Your Fired"
    I only did a third of it then let him do another third before it got too dark.

    So needles to say I am tired again today.
