So I went in for a solo workout at 7:30 before work. I dove in and felt the warm water. "Ugh!" I grunted to myself. Water temp was later discovered to be 85degs!
500 FR
3X:
200 FR 3:15
200 FR 4:00
It was meant to be 5 x thru at 3;00 and 4:00
but I could not do it.

So I added:
1x 100 FR 1:30 / 100 FR 2:00. I can do that so I may rework that set sometime.
3 x 100 K :20 RI # 3 sans fins!
10 x 50 :55
10 x 25 :25
5 x 50 cool down
.

Those 200s sound tough. Were you trying to go fast on them? Or cruise them? The one on 4:00 seems like you would try to do it fast. Five times through looks tough! Especially in 85 degree water!

So were your 200s/100s supposed to be fast on the longer interval, then easy(ier) on the shorter?

I do like that varied interval thing, and I'll certainly steal it for the next time I workout on my own. All too often we do 200s on 3 min, just gets boring after a while.

Well the way I read it would be fast on 3:00 go and take al of 4 to recover...if it had been 4:00 and then 3:00 I would have though it was all out on the first. I gave up when my 3:00's wre getting close to where I was going on the 4:00. I think the 100's will be a good set for me though.

Sometimes when I start overheating in my hot 85 degree gym pool, I get out and jump in a cold shower and then get back in.
