As fine and fast as I felt yesterday in the water, I felt crappy and slow today. I couldn't shut down until about 12:30/12:45am, so I slept through the Cactus workout, but managed to do a (slow) variant of Chris's workout today (http://forums.usms.org/blog.php?b=12624) at Lifetime over lunchtime:

  • Warmup:
    • 1 x 600: odd 100s free, even 100s fly-back-breast by 100, kick/drill by 25
    • 3 x 100: on 1:45, IM
  • 4 x 250: on 4:30, all 200 IM + 50 free easy
    • #1 straight 200 (2:50)
    • #2 broken @ 150 for 0:10 (2:43)
    • #3 broken @ 100 for 0:10 (2:42)
    • #4 broken @ 50s for 0:10 (2:34)
  • 1 x 100: easy
  • 10 x 50: on 1:15, hypoxic
    • odds underwater dolphin kick on stomach, 3 breaths (1 down, 2 back)
    • evens free swim, 1st 3 w/2 breaths, last 2 w/1 breath
  • 4 x 100: on 2:00, 50 fast (attempted) - 50 easy, IM order on fast (0:35, 0:37+, 0:44+, 0:32)
  • 1 x 100: easy

TOTAL: 3,000 SCM

Commentary:

  • There's always tomorrow.
