Where did I leave off...

Saturday...16 mile run. It felt great, pretty cold and windy, but I can't find anything about that 2 1/2 hours to complain about! I won't bore you with the details since this is a swimming blog, but if you want them, go here and scroll down to the training updates.

Sunday- 2 mile run, was supposed to be a 30 minute run but I just couldn't make myself suffer through to 30 minutes. I just don't get the reasoning behind doing a short run the day after the long run. I got nothing but pain out of it. I will have to talk to the coach about that!

Monday- SWIM with FXCM...
400 warm up

3 x 400 (1 & 2- free, 3- IM)

4 x 150 (1, 2 & 3- free, 4- IM no free) on 2:15

2 x 200 kick

6 x 50 (1-4- free, 5-6- back) on :50

8 x 25 on :25 (odd- free, even- back)

3100 yards total

Tomorrow morning I plan to head to the gym to sit in the hot tub for a little bit, my legs could use it and I didn't have a chance yesterday or today. Then spin at lunch, run in the evening and *maybe* swim practice after the run.

I sent in my entry form for the Richmond meet (Feb. 14-15) and for the UMBC meet (Feb 21-22). YIKES! While Fort has begun to taper for her meet Feb. 14-15, I have just started training. We'll see how this works out for me...

I guess recovery runs are like recovery swims? Helps get the lactic acid out? A hot tub should certainly help!

You've been kinda busy with your marathon training to focus too much on swimming. But, based on the 200 back you cranked out so effortlessly at Rutgers, you don't have a thing to worry about.

It just doesn't feel the same as a recovery swim. I totally believe in recovery swims, bike rides, but NOT running. It was just awful. Should have hit the hot tub after the run. I went this morning and my legs feel pretty good now. We'll see how spinning and running go today!

I'm looking forward to the swim meets. I have no expectations at all!
