Here's my Valentines Day:
Warmup:
200 Free
100 Kick w/ board
200 Free Pull
I had a fellow masters swimmer at the lap swim with me, and he asked what we were going to do: I smiled inside.
Main Set:
PWB's Broken Mile Set from Week #7 Workouts:
Try to hit your 1650 pace during the broken swim. (mine is 1:06-1:07 from an 18:07 best time)
Supposed to pick a Base + :10 for the interval (my base is 1:15 - so 1:25 is suggested).
We ended up going on the 1:30 Base for the set...1) to make math easier, and 2) to give the other guy a little more rest.
3 x 100 Free @ 1:30 (went 1:04/1:05/1:05)
4 x 150 Free @ 2:15 (went 1:39/1:38/1:38/1:39)
3 x 200 Free @ 3:00 (went 2:14/2:14/2:14)
3 x 50 Free @ :45 (went :30/:31/:31)
1650 Total Added Up Time: 18:02
Pretty much right on my best time from last February in a meet.
NOTE: My lanemate was holding between 1:13-1:17 per 100 pace throughout this, so he did a very good job too!It was very nice having someone there with me in the set...kept me moving, and the other guy said the same thing...he wouldn't have swum as hard as he did if I wasn't there either.
150 EZ stretch out
8 x 25 Kick fast w/ board @ :30
4 x 125 Free w/ paddles only @ 1:40 (1:23-1:25s)
100 EZ and out

3100 Yards
================================================
Here's a video that I recorded off the tv tonight. We were going thru old home videos, and this meet from when I was coaching/swimming in Oregon was on there. I think I'm 25, almost 26 years old. Swimming the LCM 200 IM, and LCM 100 Free. Wasn't training very much at the time if I recall.
