Warm Down

Four consecutive days the thunderstorms and lightning have abruptly ended my swim sessions. But the good news is that I have been able to consistently continue my training so far this July, unlike my recent several summers. This morning the entire LCM pool was full with GCST and its satellite programs, so I elected to swim in the SCY/diving pool with my own lane.

Thursday was an active rest session of 2000 EZ meters, and Friday I was at 2800 meters when the guards sounded the horn, but did manage to complete 1:04 and 1:03 100 meter FR swims, as part of a 10x100 FR on 2:00 with odd numbered 100s EZ drill, and even number 100s Fast descending 1-5.

At this point I hope my OW endurance base is still there, but I can feel my speed is improving. I am looking to test it out early August in Clearwater, and then at several SCM meets this fall leading up to the Rowdy Gaines meet in Orlando. Of course I still love to swim OW and plan to swim again in Sarasota in October.

    I am waiting to see when the Fairhope meet is in October. If it doesn't conflict with the Rowdy Gaines meet I might make the trip over there for that.
