After a long rest

Week 46 - Tuesday

This mornings workout started a little later today and I had an extra 30 minutes in bed last night. I felt pretty good today.

Warm up
400 free
300 kick

Main set
2x400 pull with paddles on 5.30
12x50 pull no paddles with 3,5,7,9,10 fast on 55
2x(2x50 IM order swum 25 drill, 25 swim free on 1min, 200 IM on 4 mins)
12x50 swim with 3,5,7,9,10 fast on 1 min

Warm down
200 easy

Total 3500LCM

I went 4.50 and 4.35 on the 400's and felt really good. The fast 50's I held 30's. the 200IM's I went 2.55, 2.48, and then I held 28-30's on the fast 50 swims. Overall I felt good today.

    4:35 in an LCM workout for a 400? I'd say for sure you felt good. Are you typically faster or slower w/paddles vs. swimming?

    Yes it was a good 400 LCM. I was out in 2.15 to my feet. I swam 4.36 unrested and untapered with a training session the morning before zones about a month ago, so right now my pull with paddles is quicker than my swimming but its marginal. I plan on working in the weight room on my kick and generally my leg strength. I think my general conditioning is still improving and based on the time i have been back in the pool I hope to see more improvement over the next year. That all said I am really happy with my progress, both in terms of weight loss/control and my swimming.
