Swim/SCY/Solo @ Pitt

Warm up:

600 various
100 scull
100 fly drills
6 x 25 shooters w/fins @ :40
100 EZ

Main sets:

4 x 25 burst SDK + cruise @ 1:00
50 EZ
4 x 30 burst + cruise from the blocks
-- I did a couple at 100 pace trying to glide after the dive. If I do this in 100 fly, I can take 1-2 less kicks the first length.
100 EZ

4 x (25 AFAP from the blocks + 25 EZ)
2 x free (11s), 2 x breast (14 highs)
100 EZ

10 x 25 AFAP SDK to 15 m + cruise @ :40
-- I had wanted to do this as a USRPT set, but I can't sustain true AFAP pace for the requisite # of reps, so desisted after 10.
100 EZ

4 x (50 AFAP w/fins + 100 EZ) @ 4:00
2 x breast (26, 27 flat)
2 x kick w/board (24s)

2 x (broken AFAP 100 kicks w/fins + 200 EZ)
backstroke, 43
dolphin w/board, 44

Total: 3000

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The variety divers, who often watch my workouts, commented that this workout was "really intense." AFAP is definitely harder than 100 pace. If you count the bursts, which I do, that was about 775 of AFAP work.
I woke up this am to the first day of spring and it was snowing! I'm so over winter. Feeling a bit lonely for my kids too. They're both on spring break, but are traveling with friends.
Looking forward to watching the womens 100 back tonight; going to be a close race between the SDK experts. A little disappointing that Bootsma only qualified 15th.
    There were some USAT "kids" (20-somethings) who were doing their stretch cord warmups while I was swimming. On a rare break between sets, one of them said (along with other things), "You're not like the other lap swimmers here." I took it as a compliment.
    I just hope my live stream cooperates. I was trying to watch the women's 500 and 200 IM last night, both of which sounded like great races, but the live stream links I had just kept crapping out. I am hoping it works better tonight. Looking at the swimswam comments, apparently, I'm not the only one experiencing problems. It is shameful to not have top-notch streaming with excellent commentating for this meet.
    I couldn't watch last night either. Swimswam says the link for tonight's races is here: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index#s...AA%20swimming/. And it seems to work, though racing hasn't started yet. It says 8 pm.
    I had trouble viewing last night too. Prelims in the am were just fine, but I had all kinds of trouble with the finals and only got the video feed working in time to see the 50 free. A fantastic race.
    Tonight the ESPN3 link worked great. Resolution was very good. Some great races. We were cheering for Cindy Tran in the 100 bk though
    Yep, ESPN was great and the resolution much better than cbs. I was rooting for Lee and Tran. It looked like a slight hesitation in her second to last stroke cost Tran the title. Her UWs were awe inspiring.
    The CBS site isn't working again this am ...
