That is cool that you entered the 1500. You will do very well in that based on your postal results. Good luck.

Wow, is that 1500 gonna be a warmup swim or are you trying to push it? And if so, are you worried about the affect that will have on your later swims?

    hey tjrpatt,

Thanks, we'll see how it goes, a 1500 is way shorter than a 5k or a 10k. I entered with my 1500 split from the 5k

    hey paul,

I'm going to work the 1500 pretty hard but split it right. After it, there's a 30 minute break, plenty of time to swim down. I'm sure it will affect my later swims, but I'll be in OK shape for it with all the longer harder training I'm doing. The longer training has already affected my speed, I'll probably just rest a week going in to this meet.

Right now I'm attempting to swim faster by training harder and weighing less. I'll add a new layer of strength and speed in the fall.

Too bad the 1500 is first. Ouch, wouldn't want to swim sprints after that myself ... but you are in shape for it.

I think you should write a new tip about "layering." I wonder if your body appreciates the break from strength and speed training as well?
