Golden gate swim

what a beautiful day in the bay!
water temp; 58 - 60
light breeze... high fog early cleared after noon.
thanks to the legend, bob roper, for putting together this swim. it started on the south west side of the golden gate and finished in a small cove on the north east side of the bridge. the start was delayed to let a freighter pass and we jumped in right behind it... caught a bit of a wild ride in its wake. i had a good visual on the leader the whole swim, but couldn't catch him. my pink speedo with roller skates kept the sharks off guard and i managed to finish sandwiched in between the twenty-something male and female winners (sounds kinky... i know). happy to say, first 8 swimmers all sans rubber.
now, if i can get my hands on one of those SERC fleece hats......
