Vlog the Inhaler, or The Occasional Video Blog Musings of Jim Thornton

A star is born, and quickly shuffled off stage

Rating: 2 votes, 5.00 average.
A short vlog tonight, one that I don't think I can link to directly. But if the screen doesn't pop up automatically, just click on the inserted link at the bottom of today's writing and then start the movie entitled USAS Masters Jeopardy. It is this year's skit from the Convention in Chicago.

Our very own special Little Mermaid, an adult-onset swimmer originally from the Alabama portion of Pennsylvania, who has subsequently landed in the big city of Pittsburgh and is struggling valiantly to learn the ways of the civilized world (secular humanism good; nutcase birther movements bad), makes a riveting screen appearance in this film beginning approximately at the 1:19 mark and ending with her being shuffled off the screen around the 1:41 mark.

The rest of the movie, before and after, might be good too, but I think you might find yourself mesmerized by the 22 seconds that ensnared my own attention, and find that after watching this snippet several dozen times in a row, well, your life beckons and you must tear yourself away. If you can.

Here, by the way, is a still from this performance to whet your appetites for more. Whet? I think that's how it's spelled.

Say what you want about Alabama within Pennsylvania, but it does nurture some pretty fine womanflesh of the sort that deserves ribbons at pretty much any fair from Sewickley to Elko, Rocky Mount to the backwaters of Phoenix.

Have a good time in the wilderness Jimby! Don't do anything crazy.
I'm learning how to use my Flip.
Soon I will post kdg heart rate moniters and 4th grade golfers.

No Jim, the rest of it is not good. This is it. Mermaid is the saving grace of this video. DO NOT spend an extra minute of time watching the rest of it unless you are one of the protagonists or are related to them or have some other vested interest in watching it.

Mermaid must have seen the light and got out of the Alabama part of PA. Good for her! But, I think that there are pockets of the Alabama of PA where they act like normal Pennsylvanians(ie Keystoners)

    1) Bobinator, I cannot wait to see your movies. I thought the kindergarten heart rate monitors would be cute, but what could be cuter than the blood bath of 4th graders wielding Big Bertha brain-bashing drivers! I really should take one of these to Idaho with me.

    2) Actually, Bill, I am way ahead of you on that one. I didn't come close to watching any of the rest of the video!

    3) I think, Tom, you would be surprised at how much of PA is really Alabama with an even worse accent.

You can read below about some of our state's leading fraternal organizations--Keystone State Skinheads; the National Socialist Movement , which bills itself as "America's Nazi Party" and has chapters in Bethlehem, Myerstown and Philadelphia; the Ku Klux Klan with chapters in Boyertown and Quarryville in addition to Boothwyn, Johnstown, New Castle and Saint Thomas; etc.

Thanks, Bill. I am still awaiting FedEx delivery of my satellite phone, without which the lost in Idyho story will be even more realistic.

Could you post last night's A practice here, plus a description of our head-to-head 100 race, you swimming fly and me free?

Take as many different posts as you need to get all that in, Bill.

Leslie, my comment section is a great way to reach me for any communications whatsover. I think I will start taking my work emails here as well, and solicitations from Jame Carville.

Jim and Bill head to head
Jim swims free. Bill swims fly.
Race Start: From a push-off, Jim leaves actually on time, an unusual event no matter what kind of start!
First 25: At the first wall Jim leads by a yard.
Second 25: Jim still leads, now by about a yard and a half
Third 25: Jim's lead closes back to about a yard
Fourth 25: Jim's lead is closed by Bill's SDKs. Bill closes on the last few yards and touches about a second behind.
Final tally: Jim 57.9ish, Bill 58.9ish

Ok, there are Alabama parts that show up in any part of PA. Boothwyn is like 7 miles from my house but I am not surprised. The people that I know from Boothwyn do act like they are from Alabama. Boyertown is the town where the DVLMSC has an annual Masters meet but not really surprised either. It is a very hick town. Thanks for the link.

But didn't you enjoy my birthday text, sent unsolicited?

It appears that you and Bill are getting the hang of "no pain, no parthenon" ...

Leslie, thanks so much for your birthday greeting!

I am also getting the hang of mutliple comments on this and vow to give you a run for your money's worth, little missy!

Jim, I have one more suggestion for you. When someone sends you an email and a response is in order, simply direct them to your latest blog where they will find the answer they seek.
  18. billwhite's Avatar
For example, if one of your busty blondes requests a rendezvous you respond simply with: Please see the following link: http://forums.usms.org/blog.php?b=5558#comments
In this section of course, you will detail the location for such meeting as well as an approximate course of action.
