so it seems i will be heading down to manhattan some time in early jan. (date tbd) to have my heart hole (Atreal septal defect) patched up. according to the info i have read on line, this means no driving or strenuous activity (force of 10lbs or more) for 5 days, no activities that generate heavy breathing for 6-8 weeks and 6 months of aspirin therapy...... i can live with that.

Dave, keep us all posted. Your ability to write about this so humorously suggests the kind of attitude that hypochondriacs like me can only dream of having ourselves. Remember to ask the doc about a lifetime drip of prophylactic Viagra. I am almost certain I read that this helps pulmonary hypertension in high altitude climbers. As for us sea landers, I can't see how it could hurt!
