5 mile trail run. Merry Christmas to all forumites!
Merry Christmas to you too! There is a SCM meet in Flushing in May if you have unfinished business. http://www.metroswim.org/results.html
What's the pool like, Rob?
http://www.nycgovparks.org/sub_about...pool_rink.html It's a brand new 50m pool. It was built in anticipation of NY getting the Olympics. They would have used it as the water polo venue. I went to one meet there last year. They had 25m splits which was nice. It's 25M wide, so we swam across the pool and did not use the bulkhead. It's fast and deep. The real question for you would be the organizers and their ability to sanction and ratify a record.....hmmmm. I think the meet was run by the NYC parks department. I guess the thing to do is talk with them once they post the meet info. I'll keep an eye out for it, or you can check the Metropolitan LMSC link I gave you from time to time.
Thanks for the info, Rob. It's interesting. I actually prefer non bulkhead pools. When GMU runs Zones, we have bulkhead pool and a non-bulkhead pool with a slippery wall. Eveyrone hates that wall, and I love it. lol I'm not really sure about when the next time I'll try to go fast ... Just can't taper too often. If that meet is close to Zones in early May though, I could try the extended 2 meet taper/rest.
