65 degrees in the start of March in Chicagoland??!! OK I'll take it. I want to bring out the motorcycle and trans am BUT, I know from history that we can still get lots of damp and possibly snowy conditions.
I also see that this will be a milestone post of number 7,000. WOW
I spend a lot of time on the forums.

It hasn't snowed lately because I haven't taken off my snow tires yet. As soon as I do, we'll get a surprise 1-3".

After a week in cancun in Feb. I know missing the warmth of real sunshine here in Illinois. Remember our "endless pool" is Lake Michigan.

Gary --- yup, the summer car & bike are still sleeping off winter storage and the snow blower is still in the garage.
After our state meet and maybe after nationals they will be pulled out for fun.

This year at the Indy 500 --- Fernando Alonso will jump out of his Formula one car to do the 500 because it is a life time goal of his to do so. The honda engine in both cars will not cause any conflicts with team owners that want to keep him happy in many year contract he has.

After 14 years and 142,000 miles, I said goodbye to my Vue in February

Replaced it with a new 2017 BMW X5. I flew to Greenville, SC picked it up from the factory (along with some fun time on the track and off-road course), then drove it home.
I have the plug-in hybrid version and most of my driving is electric. Since I've been home, I've only gotten gas twice, and even then it wasn't below 1/2.

142,000 miles on it was good car to own. The BMW is quite an upgrade. The hybrid will be interesting to follow with gas prices up and down daily, you are sure to enjoy the no gas for me aspect of it. Is it as quick as I have read?

My first car was also a Morris Minor. The traveller version, with the wood framed back section. I had to scrap it eventually as it was suffering from wet rot!

A Morris Minor is a different kink of car. Wood in a car should be limited to the dash only. What was the date of that car?
good to hear from the Stockholm area of the world.

The wife's Audi Q7 has a leak or a heater core leak or a drain hose that dumped water into the passenger side of her car this weekend! Come on !! The last car that did this was my 1972 VEGA !!!

Well, the cars, of course! That use wood in more than just the dash (i.e. the frame).......

Question? -- do that still make them this way now?
It must take tons of time and a skill level well above H S wood shop to build a car frame! WOW !

Yes, but Morgans are super expensive, craft built boutique like cars. Stunningly beautiful, and they perform well. But they aren't really anything other than something different to appeal to people who just like the old style, and have the money. More exclusive than your typical exotic, though I'd never take one to the track like the others (then again, I've seen a relatively new Ferrari spill its guts on an open track day before, so maybe that's a bad example!!!).

I would like to tour this plant to watch them do this.
Super costly cars do blow up at 100 % track applications also!
My son talkes his 370 Z to the Autobahn near Joliet, Il. for 3 1/2 mile track days and it is his daily driver!

I've driven one of my street cars on the track, but I really don't like to. I'm actually an instructor with PCA, so now I get around pretty quickly. But I don't do it any more without a full cage and all of the safety equipment and all of that. I've had a few incidences, which are inevitable if you do this long enough (2/3 times was a mechanical failure). Of course, as my kids have gotten older, and one has been getting better and better at swimming, my driving has taken a serious hit. Wouldn't trade it, though.

That sounds like a handful to drive. Glad that you are involved in your kids sports. The time with them passes too quickly.
Enjoy the sport with them and hopefully they follow it thru into adulthood as we have.
Did you have any flood problems with the hurricane bringing it up to you?
