Last night, I watched a "cult car movie" Vanishing point. I have not seen it in years. A 1970 challenger driven around states evading the police ,a cool radio disc jockey , a naked girl on a small motorbike and a crash to end the film. Cool but odd.
Last week at a pontiac only car show of 407 cars ,I won a 1st place trophy---- today in 94 degree heat for 6 hours at a car show of 143 cars, I got only sweaty and a dash plaque and went home. Now for a shower, a pizza and a beer!
Hi robrecht, Now I'm looking for some of the songs in that movie.
He sure drove the crap out of that car.
I wish they did not show the almost ending before the real end of the movie.
Honda have redeemed some of their "development tokens" and will be bringing a new-spec engine to Belgium. They claim a significant increase in output. As an Alonso fan, I hope that claim is true.
Lots, if not all, of the individual songs are on YouTube, but here's a single video (limit one video per post) that may be all the songs:
So the Honda F1 engine upgrade appears to be far less than promised.
From this BBC article:
"The upgraded Honda engine in the McLarens was a disappointment, with Fernando Alonso setting the 16th fastest time and Jenson Button 18th.
Honda F1 boss Yasuhisa Arai had said he hoped the combustion upgrade to the engine for this race would bring the Japanese company level with the engine performance of Ferrari, regarded as a close second to standard-setters Mercedes.
But the speed trap times showed that, at least in the specification in which it was running on Friday morning, the Honda was still a long way off that.
Alonso was around 15km/h slower than Hamilton's Mercedes through the speed trap at the end of the long straight after Eau Rouge.
By contrast, he matched the pace of the fastest car, Ricciardo's Red Bull, at the second speed trap, which is between the Stavelot and Paul Frere corners at the end of the second sector, and is a measure of corner exit speed more than engine power."
I bolded that last sentence because it vindicates the McLaren chassis. Corner exit speed is mostly a factor of mechanical grip and aerodynamic effectiveness. I've been suspicious up until now that the problem at McLaren was greater than just a lack of power, but this little piece of data suggests otherwise.
Honda says it might have under estimated the time it takes to come up to F 1 standards.
Better than falling on a sword at the F1 meeting!!
F1 Singapore - What has happened to Mercedes??? No pole and in the 3rd row. Lost the chance of pole sitting record. Poor tire grip listed after a questionable "under inflation " a few weeks ago. What will the race produce? Vetel takes the pole for the red car!
Vettel wins his 42nd race of his career overtaking the 4th on the all time winners list to become the 3rd most wins in F1 history.
Ferrari wins for the 3rd time this season with Vettel as well.Hamilton is a DNF for the 1st time this season.
