Came back from vacation to a DVR filled with Amgen tour of california. Watched all 8 races to the last day that needed Sagan to take one of the top 3 finish spots to win a time bonus to win the overall race. He did squeak out a 3rd place by the sprint width of 1 inch and 2 seconds . How cool is that?

Lewis Hamilton just inked a new contract with Mercedes Formula one team for $50 million each of the next 3 years = $150.000,000.
I guess they want to lock him into the team for a long time.
When asked "can you spend that much money in a year? " he replied" I don't think so!"

The obvious answer about how to spend that much money in a year is to own an F1 team.

If the two Merc drivers take each other out. Otherwise, very unlikely. The atmosphere at Monaco is great, but the racing is usually pretty crappy.

I have not watched the race yet. today I took my 1978 Trans Am - Bandit to a car show. It won 1st place in the firebird/camaro division and a real surprise was the "Best in show" winner with a nice trophy and $100 cash. Cool !

OMG!!!??? What were the generals of Lewis team thinking bringing him in for tires at that point??
The pit delta of in and out to track was 22 seconds an he had a 19 second lead ooopppss in 3rd by 3 seconds.
Why new tires for him but not Rosberg??
Was it a Fix" to get Rosberg the 3rd in a row win to tie him with others ???

Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

I think Mercedes thought the delta was higher because they were under 'virtual safety car' conditions. Then the real safety car came out and the field was able to go a little quicker to catch up. As much as the team publicly belittled Rosberg after Spa last year, and on the heels of Hamilton getting a $150 million contract extension, I have a hard time believing the team would suddenly swing favoritism Nico's way.

I guess the team originally told Hamilton to stay out, but he though the others were pitting and questioned the call, so they told him to come in. The loss is at least partially to blame on Hamilton himself. Had he accepted the teams initial call, he'd have won the race.

Strange dealings all around. Let's see if this lights a brighter fire under each of them and then Vettle might get to the podium again if they bump each other.
