I remember last time I watched nitro top fuelers, it was with my dad in like 1973 somewhere near puyallup wa. They were still fast back then, in fact today’s top fuel cars use the same engine ignition management as then - a magneto and plugs.

Orca, you test drive one of the new corvette’s yet? Hear they do 60 in the 2’s

What we used to consider fast in the 60 - 70's is now what some high performance cars do! I have a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport and it is faster than I want to go most of the time. I have not seen a new C8 mid engine Vette on any dealership yet but, will take a test drive when I can.

I went to the Crusin' tigers all pontiac car show in St. Charles,il with 600 pontiacs and my 78 Trans Am won a 1st place trophy!
I am the original owner. My quote at the car shows is" Same car - same wife for 42 years. They are both trophy winners & I'm keeping them!"

That's cool! I've had my 67 GTO since 89 (that's where the "67" in my name is from). Was my first car. Starting to restore it, now. Frame is off, replacing trunk. Rest of the metal is good.

As to the post above....what is fast. My new daily is a Tesla MOdel 3 Performance. 0-60 in 3.2. 11.4 second 1/4 mile. It is faster than a Hellcat, and blows the doors off of any old musclecar from the 60's.

We used to joke about elec. cars needing a longer cord !!! Now elec. is faster than gas models!
F 1 has elec. in them to add to the gas engine as well. The future is here and my old car can't catch it, it's just fun driving not racing.

We just returned from Switzerland and in Zermat, at the base of the Matterhorn Mt. , they only allow electric vehicles in the town area!
They are about the size of a 6 passenger golf cart with doors and a roof. How quiet it is and no solution!
Chicago had electric street cars till the 1950's if I remember.
ALL the trains are electric in the entire country!!
Maybe we in the U S A need to rethink our mass transportation to include more of this in the future!!

F 1 news ---- Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has win the last 2 races and beaten Mercedes both times! He is also beating his team mate Vettel most of the year so far! His win at Monza has put his name in with the best ever from the famed red cars drivers from Ferrari.

Well --- we are getting older and the 14 stairs to up stairs and 14 to basement are a pain in the knees! Now we found a ranch house , excellent condition that must have been built by a
CAR GUY" because it has a 3 car garage and another 4 car garage!!

I watched the last bike race in Europe last night. the Paris to Tours of about 102 miles of road with more sections of pavers and gravel add to make it more difficult and let other than sprinters win. It was interesting to say the least!

Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

Storage of my cars just got easier. We are in the process of purchasing a house with 2 garages attached that are 3 car and 4 car. Anyone need a place to store your car at a reduced price that is secure and heated?
