Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

For hauling stuff: 2003 Dodge Dakota quad cab
for hauling kids: 2008 Honda Pilot
for hauling just myself: 2008 Hyundai Elantra

I drive so much that what I save in gas using the Elantra instead of the Dakota covers the car payment.

My bike was $79 at Target. I don't ride very much.

My daily driver is a 2006 Jeep Commander, when not having to haul kids & nice weather, my 98 corvette convertible. Should be great for the drive up to the lake for open water swimming this weekend!

My bike is a trek but not getting much use right now!

Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

Talking about cars - A Canadian Solution

Instead of giving billions of dollars to the car industry that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 10 million people over 50 in the work force.

Pay them 1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. 10 million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

    2) They MUST buy a new CAR. 10 million cars ordered - Automotive Industry fixed.

    3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing and Mortgage Crisis fixed.

    4) They must send their kids to school / college / university - Crime rate fixed.

    5) Buy $50 of alcohol/gas or smoke 1 pack of smokes a week - there's your money back in duty / tax etc.

It can't get any easier than that!

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances.

After reading this thread it seems to me that the collapse of GM is indeed inevitable.

I commute between the working place and home by metro. At weekends I drive my father's Ford Focus.

I wish I could have a go in these exotic cars one day!!! But this event did not offer drives of Porsche cars? How could it be named World Class Driving without having a Porsche?

I remembered a joke from a presenter of Top Gear. He said when he tested Ford GT40 in the streets of Detroit the locals hailed to him saying Hi NICE FERRARI!

No, Porsche was not on the list.10 cars on the list, only 5 - 6 on any day are there. The Ferrari 599 was off the list because it was TOTALED by the long hair guy Fabio !!!!

Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

For all of the gear heads.

We got the Mustang running. Took four hours to tune it up. Hadn't run in 15 years. Replaced plugs, points, wires. Changed oil. Flushed the radiator. New battery. Something that is really fun is pouring gasoline directly into the carb while hitting the ignition. It was like awakening a monster. It is a 289 four barrel. FUN with a double n. Doing the brakes this weekend. Replacing the master cylinder with a dual.

I was driving down the road for 16 hours last weekend and saw a total of 28 Prius', 1,000,000 Camry's and few Europeans along with some Cadillacs and a lot of trucks. It seems very few people are buying American. Why worry about gas mileage when the Chinese and Indians are going to suck it down anyway? Get a nice heavy car with a big engine that uses a lot of gas. The sooner we get rid of it the better. It's not gonna matter anyway when the Sun sends out an X-class and wipes out all off your electronics. Wait a second that was a different thread.

Well I teach Driver educ in the summer & I'm in a Dodge Caliber. It has a cooling vent from the AC to the top of the glove box to cool soda & other things!! What a great idea!

Dual quad nova & viper both did smokey burnouts at a friends house . The nova left over 100 feet of 2 wheel black strips worth 5000 miles of tire wear!! It was cool !
