Re: What are the cars/bikes/cycles you drive?

Earlier this year I traded my 2016 Subaru WRX for a 2017 Subaru Impreza Sport with a 5 speed manual transmission. The new Impreza chassis is spectacular. The Sport handles nearly as well as the WRX with a ride that's a bazillion X better. Seats are substantially more comfortable on the new car, and the interior finish is much nicer. I'm still not completely over losing 100+ hp, but I miss it less every day. Don't miss having to pay for premium fuel. If the Impreza has about 30 more horsepower, it would be damn near perfect. If only Subaru offered the 1.6L turbo 4 in the US that is available in the Japanese market.

Hi Gary. It's nice to see comfort taking hold over HP. Our son was looking for a cheaper Subaru to use as a winter car, But even used they are not cheap in price.

The 2019 Vettes are available to order now! They closed the factory for an upgrade in the paint area?
I think there must be another reason to stop the 2018 run in mid year like this.
    Your thoughts?

I've been lusting over Teslas for a while. My BMW (2010 535i M-Sport, 6 speed) is starting to become horribly unreliable. And as I do the maintenance and repairs, and can get parts wholesale, it is sometimes down for several days......or weeks, as I often find something else that needs to be addressed when I'm in there (usually requires taking off intake manifold on this car, ugh). It is getting to the point where the car needs a good $3000 repair more freuqnetly than once a year, and wiht how much driving I do, I'm probably putting in $250/month in fuel. So I'm looking at probably $7500 per year on this thing I could not pay with a Tesla. Then again, I'm not sure what all else would be likely to need to be replaced........though I have either a leaking rear main seal, or some turbos that need to be rebuilt given my oil consumption (I've replaced 2 other seals that were leaking).

At any rate, 67Queen has been at a CME/Board review class all week. Right by a Tesla dealer. She pretty much told me to just order one last night. I really can't justify the cost. It'd be a 70D wiht a few options. I'd been looking at P85D's used, but she would prefer a new one. So who knows, I may be ending up with one.

I was off on my fuel estimate. It is almost $400/month. I'm putting 2500 miles per month on it as of this school year. With my mileage, i'm spending $4200/year in fuel alone.

The latest Audi malfunction happened last week --- the radio did not make any sound as the screen showed the channels and CD player and at the same time the garage door opener stopped working!!! I had to reprogram the opener by standing in front of the driver's side front bumper with my other hand held remote. FOR SALE -- 2012 Audi !7 now!

My DD is an '09 Corolla. Pretty reliable A-to-B car. Very few creature comforts (no power windows / locks). The driveway ornament is a '96 Impala SS. I'm probably going to sell it as I am not NEARLY as into it as I was 16 years ago. Never thought I'd part ways with it, but having it doesn't make much sense as I rarely drive it.

I drove my wife's corolla wagon for 8 years after she had it to keep my Trans Am. Great little cars they make. Welcome to the forums down there in Baton Rouge - mon ami [sp?]

Thanks for the welcome, but it's pronounced "Baton Rouge".

I've been out of the water for the better part of 17 years. Once my kids started swimming summer league, I got the "itch" again. And when my boys saw me swim, they wanted to swim more. And then I saw some age group records that I believe I can challenge... We'll see how that goes.

    Already on one.

And if I can get off my butt and mail in my entry form, I'll be swimming the Southern Masters SC Champs in a couple of weeks.

get off your butt. Let me know how you do. Ever think of Nationals? Take a look at Q times. You are able to enter 3 events without meeting a Q time. Maybe next year? or this - OK than is a big reach for just getting started again. Just planting the seed.
