Seems like he's extremely hungry, and quite disoriented because he's swimming towards Vancouver for the WINTER Olympic games. Any guesses why?
I wonder if Subway will sell some caps that Phelps was sporting. I am glad that Phelps is big enough to get these commericals when we are no where near 2012.

It's kind of fun watching our guy rathger than some football/ basketball dufus. Our dufus is cooler ??!!
I think it's a good sign that a well-known swimmer is being featured in advertising, particularly since we're so far away from both the preceding and the next Summer Olympics. It means that a swimmer has sufficient fame to be noteworthy in the "off season."
Of course, he didn't earn his fame solely in the pool, but that's another story. . .
In either case , it's good to have a swimmer in the people's view .
The ad opens up whole new vistas for where people can swim... can't wait to try my local roads... after they clear the snow away.
Maybe a team of swimmers can clear the roads of snow ?!!

The back of my high school jacket had my two sports:

"Swimming"
After a while, the comments about "you must be really tired" got old enough, that I joined the tennis team (so the third sport would ruin the joke).

He is quite the dufus - it was pretty bad watching his interview with Bob Costas. He should just keep quiet, sober, and just swim!

My wife commented on the constant stream of (past) Olympians that were interviewed or shown in Vancouver. Winter or Summer, it didn't seem to matter. It's almost like once you win a gold medal you get a lifetime pass to all future Olympics. That wouldn't suck!
If I won, I would try to show up at the games also !
