Smile US Masters Forum T-Shirt Logo

Listen - I'm by no means a graphic design person... I'm not even someone who knows how to make ANYTHING pretty -
However - I think we should have a thread devoted to "This is our t-shirt" design. This way we can find each other when we go to those meets:

    Use this T-Shirt
    Blank T-Shirt Design(ActivityVillage.co.uk GIF)

To make something that looks like this:
    My Wonderful T-Shirt (Google Picasa)
I also vote we put our Forum Name on the back of the shirt.... Just sayin.

Thoughts? Someone have a better idea? Please post here!

Instead of "forums member" how about "forumite". It has a fun ring to it.

I'd put my name on the back as well. Hm.. should I add a shark?

Though it probably won't be hard to secure, someone from USMS should probably approve the use of the logo. Also, I'd just go with "Forums" instead of "Forumite." As for adding screen names, it would be nice to find a t-shirt printer which would print a "name" on the back of the shirt for a reasonable add-on.

That's not usually so bad - we get these kinds of shirts for my basketball and softball league all the time.

Who should we contact for proper use of the logo?

Contact the USMS national office for information about usage of the logo.

The opinions expressed in the above post are mine, not those of U.S. Masters Swimming. But maybe they should be.

I second that. I like referring to others participating on the Forums and myself as a "Forumite".

    My vote, too.

If USMS doesn't like the use of the logo. A simple "Forumite" across a shirt with a simple swimmer logo could be used. Those in the know would know what it meant. I'm a graphic artist and could come up with something. Actually, the former Go The Distance freestyler could be used. That's my logo.

I bought the GTD one at Nationals so why not a Forums/Forumite one too?

PLEASE DO! Believe me - I'm no graphic artist, and I would love to see someone do a much better job than I could with the design.

I called the master's office on friday and left a message. We'll see if I hear back from them.

How was the GTD shirt? I saw the link for buying one from All American Swim supply. I'm wary now of buying from a store that only shows a cartoon-ish picture of the product; I've been burned before. I got a shirt for the virtual geographic swims (or whatever) that was simply an iron-on transfer on a shirt. The thing wore off after a few washes and is now simply a plain white long-sleeve shirt.

Is the GTD shirt like that, or is it a more professionally done shirt (silk-screened, or whatever they call it)???

Re: US Masters Forum T-Shirt Logo

I spoke with Kyle Deery of the USMS and he said we can create shirts as long as they are not sold for profit!

So - I want to finalize a design of the shirt and have a forum vote within the next week. So if you have ideas for a T-Shirt Design PLEASE post it here!

I'll get on my desktop soon and get something together. Sadly, my internet is down for the 2nd day in a row so I'm on the lap top using someone else's network but it won't work on the deck top. Waiting for Comcast to show up now....

Talking Re: US Masters Forum T-Shirt Logo

Hey!!! I missed this thread until bzaks1424 pointed it out to me on another thread. I usually just read the swimming and Georgia threads, so now I'll have to keep track of this area, too!

I came up with what I think is a FUN idea for a t-shirt! Check out my thread, "You know you're hooked on swimming when..." (Sorry, I don't know how to insert the link to that tread here). I think we should have a shirt with the USMS logo (and whatever else) on the front, then on the back:
YOU KNOW YOU'RE HOOKED ON SWIMMING WHEN...
Under that, it could list the best of the answers that have been included on the thread. I'm thinking it would be best to list the more general ones that would be appropriate for both the guys and the gals; nothing so specific that it only pertains to the person who wrote it.

PLEASE READ THE THREAD AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK!!!

It's Comcast. The modem went out. The guy told us if the modem goes out again, to unplug the tv (which is not connected to the modem). Huh?! They aren't related at all.

MJ - The GTD shirt is nice looking and I believe it will hold up longer than your previous shirt. It is not an iron on. I think its screen print so it just means you should iron it from the inside. A hot iron would smear the printing. Otherwise, my opinion is it's worth the investment. I think they were a hot seller at Nationals. I saw several and believe a lot of people kept them for later.
