    Good Luck Mark

    Good Luck Mark Urban.

He is attempting to cross Lake Michigan for a 9 1/2 mile swim this weekend.

Let us know how it went.

    SWIM DELAYED!!!

    Hi all,

I wish I had better news to report, but I was forced to delay my swim due to bad weather including extremely high waves.

I hope to make another attempt this coming weekend, but the forecast looks bleak.

    I'll keep you updated.

FYI-------Another open water swimmer, Nial Funchion of Chicago Masters just left shore this evening, 8-24-03 at about 6:30 pm.

He is attempting to swim the entire 27-mile Chicago lakefront from Evanston to Hammond, Indiana.

    Good Luck Nial!

Regarding Chicago lake swimming, has anyone ever swam out and around one of the intake cribs and back?

    Swimming to the Crib

    June,

Nial Funchion, the swimmer who just completed 27 miles down the Chicago Lakefront did training swims out and around the intake cribs. His swims lasted over four or five hours and I know that he had a kayak to escort him. I think it turned out to be 12 miles or so because he would swim to one crib, over to another, then back to the starting point.

Sounds like a fun swim huh?

Thanks & wow. I was thinking a more substantial escort (and maybe even some type of permit) would be necessary, out there in the leisure traffic.

    Have a good 9.5.
