    10,000 LCM of FUN!!

I added this as an event on Facebook and figured I'd post it on here as well for anyone in the ATL area thats interested.

    100 x 100 Long Course Meters

I will probably be doing this on Friday the 30th or Saturday the 31st regardless if anyone comes or not. Thought it might be fun as a chance to swim together, bitch, and have fun for 3 hours or so! Based on who is interested and schedules will determine the day and time. So let me know if interested and which day and time, should take about 3 hours (pool time)

I will be doing my bi-annual (I did it SCY on New Year's Eve alone!) 100 x 100 LCM before they switch the pool back to SCY on Aug 1st. It will be broken up which each set of ten or so being different, loosely based off what I did New Year's.

I'll bring the sport drinks, snacks, fruit, etc....you bring you and your equipment!

Wish I could join you but that would ruin my taper.

No can do, Lump. My shoulders could never handle the yardage. I'm just happy my surgeon said I can do what I'm doing now (2500-3000 per workout)!

Come to the lake on Saturday instead. I've been missing you these last two times. I need someone to swim with - everyone else is too slow!

Well, my OW season ended (I think) after the GA Games. I "may" do the "Swim the Suck" 10-mile, but thats in Oct. Depending on what I got going on I may come.

I never had an open water season this year, but it's still fun to swim in the lake! Come anyway!

I wish I was in GA! 10,000 yards may be a lot - but I think if you just swam them slow and consistently (as is easily possible for me, let alone in LCM) you can do it without dying out!

Its really not that bad. Take a look at how I did it back in Dec. I ended up getting into a groove and never wanted to stop like I had planned after doing 50. I was tired by the end, but once you get to 85 or so you can just run on adrenline that you are almost there! If I can do it alone then anyone can do it with friends and others cheering you along.

BTW, you can do this on your own! Just base it off how I did mine, make each set of 10 different, and adjust intervals as you need to!

    Re: 10,000 LCM of FUN!!

So I did it alone from 7-10ish AM this morning. Felt cruddy in the middle but pushed through and actually finish the last 30 really strong. The last 20 I really just rattled off. This is how I did it.

    100 x 100

    -10 Warmup @ 2:00
    -10 Kick (Odd @ 2:30, Even @ 2:15)
    -10 Pull w/ Buoy & Paddles @ 1:30
    -10 Free @ 1:35
    -10 Free (Odd @ 1:45, Even @ 1:20)

4 Minute Break for Food/Drink (I had 1/2 Banana, little protein bar, G2 Gatorade)

    -10 Free @ 1:35
    -10 Kick w/ Fins @ 1:45
    -10 IM @ 1:50
    -10 Pull w/ Buoy & Paddles @ 1:30
    -10 Free (Odd @ 2:00, Even @ 1:20)

    200 Warmdown

-Felt tougher than when I did it SCY back in Dec, I got tired from 40-60. But got a second wind in the 70's
    -Held 1:17-1:20 on 100's Pull
    -Held 1:17-1:20 on 100's @ 1:20
    -Last 100 was a 1:12, finished strong!

Great, now you will be nice and tired for lake swim in the morning, and slow enough that maybe I can sort of keep up with you (or you can use it as more warm down)! Hope to see you tomorrow!

I'd be afraid of kids @ swim lessons too!
