70 mile San Diego County coast line swim

Talking with an old lifeguard friend, we decided we are going to swim from Mexico/USA boarder to the North County line of San Diego County. Google lists the San Diego coastline at 70 miles. We will break the swim up and complete the swim this summer. Kind of like how some people hike the Pacific Coast Trail in pieces. Should help my training and fitness level for sure. We will hopefully get some south swell days and scoot North with the current! We need to get a paddler for escort and possibly a few more people to join us. Should be a fun summer! Reply back for ideas and information, we are just in the early planning stages now.

Re: 70 mile San Diego County coast line swim

Well due to the cold water here this summer, never above 66 at the border we only finished 3 legs, Leg 1 south end of seacoast blvd to palm ave in Imperial beach, Leg 2 Palm avenue in Imperial beach to South boundary of Silver Strand State beach. Stage 3 South boundary of Silver Strand State Beach to North Boundary. See attached 3 mapsClick image for larger version.
