St. Pete swimming - afternoon traffic?

I will be in St. Pete for a week (actually Madeira Beach) at the end of the month. I was hoping to hoof it on over for practice a couple times in the afternoon. (I'll be on vacation, so 5:30am is not on the agenda.) How will the traffic be between our location and the pool at 4pm-ish? Google Maps says eight miles with some interstate driving and some tolls. How long should I expect it to take?

    Thx,

    Skip Montanaro

My daughter lives in Madiera Beach!! I often go to the afternoon practice at North Beach Pool with coach Patty; you'll love it!!!!
I normally takes me 24 minutes to drive there. I simply typed North Beach Pool in the Garmin and followed the prescribed route. I did not get on interstates, go through toll roads, or encounter tons of traffic. I can't remember the names of the road I took. I think I was on Tyrone Blvd. for most of the drive(till I was in downtown St. Pete). Good luck!
Most locals could give you directions as well.
