Sad to see tragedy involving Weylandt. I've always been as impressed with how elite cyclists descend as I am with how they climb. The risks are huge and I'm suprised tragedies like this don't happen more often.

It was really bad to see him on the ground & the paramedics cutting off his helmet strap. I had never seen that before. I thought to myself this could be bad. As they went off the air, no confirmed word was given on his condition, but in the sports this morning, the bad news. this shows how fast they go & the fear that some expressed before the race. This was not even the descents they were fearful of! Rest in peace & our prayers to the family!

Today's segment was a tribute to one of their own. Each team led for a while & the team that lost him were allowed to finish 1st in the peleton.

Stage 6 Far less crashes today. Ventosa from Movistar wins the sprint over Patachhi. Weening still holds on to the Pink jersey.

I found the inclusion of tainted meat to be quite amusing...

I, however, took great pleasure in today’s stage, and I find that swift, clinical dismemberment can be just as satisfying as “epic” suffering. First, for the second day in a row, Contador sprung from the pack with irrepressible momentum, like he was a piece of tainted meat and someone had just given the peloton the Heimlich maneuver.
