What happens if the water or river conditions are unsuitable? (Pun acknowledge, but unintended).

According to the RD this swim has been postponed one week. Here's the info:

Due to water conditions on the Allegheny River, the Search for Monongy swim has been postponed.

The Rain Date is July 16th.

Registration has been extended through July 15th at 9:00pm.

Refund requests will be processed on July 19th.

I pledge to make every effort to produce a SAFE, ENJOYABLE & FAIR event for all participants.

There is a 5k swim in Keystone Lake, Derry PA (one hour from Pittsburgh) on July 9th. The RD has some FREE entries available due to the large amount of sponsorship money that has come in for the swim. If you had travel plans to come for this weekend or you'd like to do both swims, please check out the info for the 5k and consider supporting both events. Again, I know the website says different, but if you contact the RD Darren Miller he may be able to allow you to swim for no entry fee.

Thanks for doing this event. Although we had to wait a week due to weather, the day was perfect. Sunny but no nearly as hot as last year. Can I put an order in for that kind a day for next year. What a fun way to view the city. Water was warm and seemed cleaner than last year even. In some ways, I hope the event grows, but in other ways, I love the smaller low key events.

    Thanks again.
