Yes a happy father's day to all of you fathers.
It is interesting to note that in the 1950's (?) "Father knew Best" - and yet today Father is often portrayed as a bumbling nincompoop that Mom & the kids have to rescue & manage the family in spite of! TV advertisers spend millions of $$ trying to influence us to buy their products, and for the last several years, apparently they are trying to further degrade the family by portraying fatherhood as a laughable occupation. It is interesting to note that statistically, children with fathers who actively participate in their upbringing & care, score better on exams, are less likely to become involved in drugs and illegal behavior & go on to become productive members of society & involved fathers themselves. This is not a religious persuasion - simply statistics.
We appreciate you men who spend time with our boys - be it at Boy Scouts, on the soccer field, in the swimming pool, or in the backyard - teaching them to be responsible young men, teaching them to be considerate and caring of others, and to have a strong work ethic. Thank you for all you do, and for the great influence you have been to my three sons - and to the young men who became my son's-in-law.
Being a good dad is greater challenge than developing flawless freestyle form.
Being a good mom has got to be even tougher
