Coastal Maine Aquatics, a registered USA swim nestled in the
heart of the Southern Maine Coast with anywhere from 70-150
athletes depending on the season, is looking for an assistant
swim coach to work with our developmental and age group
swimmers. Coaching time varies, but regular hours are between
4:30 - 6:30pm Monday - Friday, some Saturday mornings
between 7:00 - 9:00am and one - two weekends per month for
The ideal coach should have competitive coaching experience,
and stroke technique knowledge. He/she must be timely,
and bring enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude to each
practice. Passion for swimming and working with children is
preferred. CPR, First Aid, Coaches Safety Training, APT, and
passing a background check are all necessary for employment.
Coaches must also be, or become registered with USA Swimming.
ASCA certification 1-2 is also preferred. 2-3 professional
references are also required.
Duties will include but are not limited to: Working with
developmental level swimmers on stroke technique and racing
strategies. Establishing and executing a seasonal plan. Assisting
at meets and team functions. Communicating with parents
regarding swimmers' progress. Communicating with head
coach regarding all aspects of the group. Familiarity with team
unify and team manager would be helpful but is not required.
