Well ---- I guess I need to take down his poster from the garage wall.
He tells more that I thought he would.
He still has class in not pulling others into the pit!

Is the IOC going to get real now or continue it's hypocrisy. They said they couldn't do anything about the East German cheaters because it was more than 8 years ago,but for ,Lance, 12 years is not too much .Hmmm.

So why don't they go after the east get, swimmers & oh yeah while they are at it the Chinese swimmers that had the same coach when their breakthru came, if I remember it !!
" The truth will set you free" BUT -- it seems as if it will also cost him lots of money & counter law suits.

The interview seems to have made him out to be more of a jerk that we all thought before!!
The Live strong foundation is STILL a very good idea that should ,in no way. be cut back because of his doping!
I wonder what ALL cycle races will do now to test better ? Will the tour down under be the 1st to do full testing on all racers?
I hope people do not hold back on the foundation. He is now out of it & they do a good job for others !
Lance's glory and story made him a marketing magnet for the foundation. It was something many wanted to be part of. I'm cuirous to see how their fund raising will be affected with him gone?
It will be interesting to see how they set their ticket and table prices for their 2013 gala.
LIVESTRONG reports their numbers each year.
I think Eric Shanteau would be a great Livestrong athlete ambassador. I know he does some stuff for them but maybe he could play a bigger role? He doesn't have the name recognition of Lance, of course. Shanteau has talked quite a bit about how helpful the organization was for him. I can think of some MLB folks who are cancer survivors as well - Jon Lester, Dave Roberts, Mike Lowell (You can tell my baseball allegiance from that list.) - but I don't know if they have any involvement with Livestrong.

I think some will stay away for a while to see what happens.
I do hope that other athletes will come forward to help this good foundation.
Lance has entered our Zones meet at UT next weekend.
Here is Phillip Whitten's take on his USMS membership--
http://www.swimmingworldmagazine.com...ters/33152.asp
So as I read it, the USADA called for a ban for life but since USMS doesn't fall under their umbrella we can make up our own mind.
The rule book articles that Phil cites seem to apply...but I also know that there are other current USMS members who were once caught and banned for using PEDs while doing "elite" competition. Heck I believe we have current members who lied about their birthdate to cheat in MASTERS competition.
Was Armstrong's offense really that much more egregious than the others, or is he being singled out for being famous? I don't know. My tendency is to not take things so seriously and just let the man swim, if he wants. It isn't as if he hasn't been punished pretty severely for what he did; denying him USMS membership seems petty by comparison.
