Tahoe Rough Water Swim - 1.2 mile swim 1.2 mile high

The Lake Tahoe Rough Water Swim is Northern California’s premier open water swim. Join us Saturday September 14th, 2013 one week before the Ironman Lake TahoeTriathlon to experience the most beautiful lake on the planet. This 1.2 mile swim will follow the same swim course as the inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe.

Is the Ironman only 1.2 miles as well?

I think it is 2 loops around the 1.2 mile course. It should be 2.4 miles.
The opinions expressed in the above post are mine and not those of U.S. Masters Swimming.

    119$ entry fee for 24 minutes of swimming...hmm. I guess I'll stick to my ghetto...3 races 4k, 2k, 1k last weekend for 40 dollars.

Lay off the training a bit. The slower you are, the more bang for your buck.

We vacation at Tahoe every summer for about two weeks. Warm water, no crowds (the CA kids are back in school early August), and all the swimming and kayaking and sailing you can imagine. Try it, you'll like it!
This bush league psyche-out stuff. Laughable, man - ha ha!

Define "warm water". I'm doing the Trans-Tahoe relay in July and I whine if a pool is under 80.
