Assistant UMAC/ Head Masters Swim Coach
University of Maryland Aquatic Club is a newly formed age group and Masters club at the University of Maryland. This is the perfect opportunity to get in on the ground floor of building a great program.

Your primary role is to be a team leader whomotivates, teaches, and pushes our members to achieve their unique personalgoals. The ideal candidate will facilitate a program that enhances the qualityof life of our swimmers by assisting them with goal setting, time management,discipline, general fitness and team work. This candidate will also implement aprogram that will meet the different needs of all members in the program(competitive swimming, non-competitive physical fitness swimming,triathlon/cross training and stroke technique improvement.)
Job Responsibilities; In conjunction with the head coach and team administrators, create and develop a training program for our year-round age group program (3-8 workouts/week) for all levels of age group swimmers. In conjunction with team administrators and masters swimmers, create and develop a training program for our year-round program (6-10 workouts/week) for both competitive and non-competitive swimmers. Develop a dry land fitness program for Masters swimmers. Keep attendance records and promote swim team participation. Follow all CRS rules and regulations. Manage a coaching schedule while responding regularly and promptly to work. Provide swimmer feedback and manage swim meet/ triathlon/ open water event schedule of Masters swimmers. Prevent accidents and eliminate or minimize hazardous situations to ensure safety of participants. Travel to meets/ events with Masters athletes as determined by head coach and team administrators. Provide coaching coverage as necessary to all groups of UMAC

Required Skills; Effective verbal and written communication skills. Works well with people of all ages and has excellent customer service skills. Accountable and well organized. First Aid/Infant/Child/Adult CPR/AED certified (Professional Rescuer preferred). Has excellent stroke refinement knowledge. Can effectively coach developmental, fitness and competitive swimmers. High school diploma. USA Swimming Coach and United Sates Masters Swimming membership or ability to obtain it within 30 days.
