No favorites just yet, but thanks for reminding me of the date. Finally, I'll have something to look forward to checking out in the evenings. This summer has been pretty drab when it comes to relaxing at the end of the night.

It's on !! W T F ??? A team bus gets stuck under the finish electronic overhead structure & causes PANIC for the race directors !! The finish was moved to 3 k from the finish line --- no wait the bus is moved --- the team don't know where the finish is ? A dog runs out into the front of the peloton & owner starts after it -- both jump out of the way -oops that was a preview of stage 2 --- a crash stops 1/2 the pack - most sprinters crash or are trapped - somebody wins --- all are given the same time ~!!! That's stage one!!!

#5 Cavendish "the missile" jumps into the win with his 1st win of the tour. He now stands with 24 tour stage wins & is close to #3 spot, I think,in overall stage wins !!!

#7 connondale runs a fast pace to bury the sprinters, it works so that their Peter Sagan wins the race to the line. The yellow stays with the man from South Africia. On to the BIG mountains this weekend !!!!

#8 Into the mts. the tour goes. Waiting in the pack for 7 days & free to go ,Chris Froome rips away from everyone to take the yellow by 51 sec with his teammate # 2 in the tour G C now. Team SKY in a train o the flats & the mountains.

#9 4 big mt. climbs breaks Sky team down to only Froome, Porte cracks & is 14+ min. behind. Dan Martin wins the stage .
Froome spins on his own to hold the lead in a pack pf 15 or so.

#10 long flat stage . Waiting for the finish the sprinters are digging hard to win one of the last flat races in this year's tour. Kittle , from argos, wins over the big name sprinters. Cav [ I think] causes a crash by shoulder bumping a guy to the pavement !!

#11 A 20 mile time trial . World champ Tony Martin wins & waits 4 1/2 hours to the last person, froome , to see if he wins --- yes he does , but only by 11 seconds. Froome puts minutes on the other top riders. He seems to have all the phases working this year !

#12 A tail wind all day lets a 5 man breakaway stay out till the last 5 miles. 4 teams stage for the pure sprint end.
Cav pulls out & "is never beaten" when he is in the lead, say the tv people, WELL Marcel Kittel - team Argos, blows by him to take his THIRD sprint stage of the tour !!! Watch out you guys of the old guard !!!

    Re: Tour de France 2013

    # 13 Should be a flat stage to end with a bunch sprint but, NOOOO cross winds and teams that train in it took it to a great break of the race ! 4 groups were formed & got more than a min ahead of the race leader that his team could not pull back . Cav pulls out of sagan's draft to take his 25th tour stage win. Frome's rival pick up 1:08 on him. What a stage!

#14 after a hard day fri , the peloton lets 18 riders stay away to the finish . A surprise winner from omega pharma , trenton , I think, takes it at the lie. The usa guy talansky takes 3rd. Froome stays in yellow. Sun is the big mt finish.

#15 They said team Sky might be weak --- WELL they lead froome up the big mt. and broke the rest of the field except the 23 yr old from Columbia & with 2 hard surges , Froome dispatched him also! Froome put minutes on his other rivals . One announcer even called him to win the tour based on the lead/results of today! Mon is a much needed rest day.

Team SKY has been outstanding this year. Froome is the first rider to win the ascent up Mont Ventoux with the yellow jersey on since 1970! Awesome teamwork!

    Re: Tour de France 2013

Already , some are questioning his use of drugs to do this !!! With past tour winners being disallowed, many are not sure of a "clean" rider being able to do this. I really think we have a good clean tour leader this time.
