Senior Age Group Coach
The Yucaipa Aquatics Swim Team, a 501(c)(3) organization, with over 50 years of excellence in swimming in the city of Yucaipa, CA. is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill the position of Senior Age Group Coach. YST is a USA Swimming club with 270 + members that utilizes the 2004 Olympic Trials pool located at Crafton Hills College in the city of Yucaipa. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport of swimming and the ability to work well with and motivate swimmers of all abilities. The Senior Age Group Coach will be responsible for approximately 20 hours of coaching per week, and will attend swim meets as appropriate for the age group level.
Job Description: Essential Job Tasks: 1. Abide by the American Swimming Coaches Association Code of Ethics, the USA Swimming Code of Conduct, and Yucaipa Swim Team policies and procedures. 2. Plan, prepare, and implement a seasonal, weekly, and daily training plan for assigned groups and be supportive of the overall philosophy and direction of the Yucaipa Swim Team. 3. Prepare and submit swimmers’ meet entries in a timely manner. 4. Assist other coaches/instructors as needed and communicate regularly with counterpart age group coaches. 5. Substitute for other coaches as needed. 6. Effectively communicate with parents, athletes, board members and coaching staff through verbal and written communications.
Preferred qualifications include: 1. USA Swimming Certified Coach in good standing (required). 2. All certifications, CPR/First Aid/Water Safety/Level, Background Check/Athlete Protection Training must be up to date. 3. ASCA Level 3 certification with at least three years of competitive coaching experience and a proven record of developing talent. 4. Collegiate level coaching or swim experience. 5. Education and experience in strength and conditioning development 6. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 7. Knowledge of the Team Unify and Hy-Tek systems. 8. A college degree
