    Amazing swimming last night.
Kudos to Clark Smith, new NCAA champion in the 500 free. Masterful job coming home - 24:03 for the final 50! After the race the announcer said "You'll never see a better race than that!" Pappa John, can you contain your delight?

He damn near gave me a coronary on the last 50. I was leaning over the glass railing screaming at him.... "Now Clark !!... Now !!!!". Still can't believe he did it. Hope they didn't get me on ESPN.

Proud of that boy. He works hard....... can't tell you how hard he works.

It's Recruiting Season, this years the HS Seniors are starting to make verbal commitments.
Class of 2016 / College grad class of 2021
We're starting to see articles on swimswam.com and swimmingworld about who's committed to sign with various universities.
There's many still uncommitted. There's a lot more recruiting trips, I think each swimmer gets 6 official trips.
Signing day is the 2nd Wed in Nov, Wed Nov 11

2-17 to 2-20 ACC Women's Championships in Greensboro, NC
2-24 to 2-27 ACC Men's Championships in Greensboro, NC

I swam in '67-'69 and it seems that the number of dual meets has gradually decreased, the meet season seems to start earlier, but there are a few more invitational meets. Do you think this is to reduce cost or is part of a broader training scheme focused on championship meets.

The "Big 12" Conference with a whopping three teams competing on the men's side. It's an embarrassment.

I love how the Big 12 now has 10 member schools and the Big Ten has 14!
