[QUOTE=orca1946;319819]I also would like to know, will we have BS ledges? I really liked them at Greensboro. I am even planning to build a "sort of like " ledge to practice with .[/QUOTE} When you design it, let us know how it works/how you did it. Thanks.

To the best of my recollection and notes from our site meeting in February (Mark Moore, [Head Coach, Mission Viejo], and I are the USMS Championship Committee Liaisons):

Starting block back foot wedges and backstroke ledges will NOT be available in Riverside.

1,155 people entered as of now. Anyone want to guess on the final number? I know lots of people typically enter near the deadline (Monday), so I'll say about 1,800.

I also emailed the Riverside CC head coach, and he also said "no" to both.

That is big! West coast meets seem to bring 'em out. Maybe Jeff can remind us the size of the subsequent SCY nationals.

The Championship Committee has decided not to drop the sixth event. Swimmers who entered six events will be able to swim all six.

Psych sheets will be available soon and all seeding decisions will be announced by next week.

That's great news! Now if I will be allowed to swim my 200's against my own age group I will be one happy swimmer.

Re: 2017 short course nationals in Riverside, California

    Psych sheets are now posted:
    http://www.usms.org/comp/scnats17/heats/

The 50s, 100s and 200s will be preseeded, with the oldest age groups first, slowest to fastest within each age group, men and women separate. The 500 freestyles and the 400 IMs will be deck seeded, with the oldest age groups first, slowest to fastest within each age group, men and women separate. The 1000 and 1650 freestyles will be deck-seeded slowest to fastest by entry time, regardless of age, with men and women separate. THEREFORE ALL EVENTS 400 YARDS AND LONGER WILL REQUIRE POSITIVE CHECK-IN.

Heat sheets for preseeded events, as well as the estimated timeline, are expected to be posted on the USMS website on or about April 14.

Empty lanes can dampen competitive conditions and we'd like to avoid that when possible. Although we cannot offer any refunds, if you are absolutely certain you will not be swimming any of the 50s, 100s or 200s, please let us know and you'll be removed from those events before we seed the meet to cut down on empty lanes and provide for more competitive heats. Please note that once we take you out of an event, we cannot put you back in. Scratches will be accepted through April 7.

Please email scratches or entry errors to championship@usms.org.

There are at least 17 entered (from USA, Bulgaria, Great Britain, France, Ecuador, Japan, Costa Rica and Canada) from various Olympic years from 1956 through 2016. I am not sure if this list may be made public or not, but if it can we will list the names here.

Will the blocks have the adjustable track start ledges (not sure what they're really called...)? Also will backstroke ledges be available?

No, neither will be available. It's noted on the previous page of this string.

OK - my DYI ledge works and now I don't need it 'cuz it will not be at Nationals. Oh well, it will be useful in the future.
