    Re: 2017 Tour de France

    Stage # 12 133 miles with mt. peak at the end.Marcel Kittel , a sprinter,weighs 195 so - not a mt. climber.
11 in a breakaway @30 mi. to go. 5 are left @ 16 to go in the mt. fog. 1 @ 7 mi.
Froome & Aru go off road after going too hot into a corner. Both get back on the bikes and are ok. 5.4 mi. to & all are in the pack. The last 400 meters is a 20% up grade that could flip standings. Romain Bardet wins it gong away with Aru 3rd and Froome 7th 22 seconds back to give Aru the yellow jersey with a + 6 second lead!!!

313 A short but steep day of 62.8 miles. The top contenders battle & attack each other.
Warren Barguil, a frenchman, wins the stage on Bastille day. They all finish as a small pack so Aru stays in yellow.

#14 Sharp turns and a hill at the finish today. Team Sky keeps Froome at the front and out of trouble.
Michael Matthews wins the stage with Froome a few secs. behind and Aru and team Astana blow it and he is 18 secs. back to put Froome back in yellow..
Only 29 seconds separate the top 4 riders at this point !

6 stages left and the top four riders are separated by 29 seconds. Time for the teams to keep pushing their riders to the top!

#16 102.5 miles with some concerns of wind. At the GO riders hammer to get out ahead. The speed drops Kittel an others off the back. 120 riders are off the front to see Mathews ahead to win 20 pts. at the mid sprint point. The cross winds do affect to lead pack and it breaks to 40 - then 30 riders with Mathews in the front. Sprints jersey is on points not time so Kittel is maybe 11 min. back at the finish. The final sprint with some really tricky turns is a photo finish with Mathews wing another 30 points and his 3rd. stage win of T D F. Dan Martin is 50 sec. back of the winner.

#17 113.7 goes high into the Alps.Kittle was in an earlier crash and abandons the race at 50 miles to go!
The 4 tour leaders fight each other all the way up the mt. Froome answers each attack.
Aru gets dropped on the last portion of the hard climb.
The stage winner is Primo Rogli , a former ski jumper that has only been pro racing for 5 years and gets his 1st T D F stage win. Froome is a sprinter at the line and gets 3rd on the stage to keep himself in yellow now by 27 over Uran and 53 over Aru who drops from 2nd to 4th. Landau [sp?], groom's teammate is is 5th.

#18111.5 miles up the 3rd highest mt. finish in tour history. 54 leaders are out front at 60 miles to go then 27 @32 then it falls apart. Froome group is 7 min. back but closing. the last 9 miles is up a long climb with Landa leading Froome and others into the close lead.At 2 miles out Landa is given permission to go at it leaving froome but is caught soon. !.3 to go Froome push tottery to leave # 2 & 3 but hey stay with him. Warren Barguil is ahead as King of the Mountains but wants more and attacks the lead and wins the stage to lock in his winning the KOM jersey. Froome finishes 4th on the stage and leads Bardet by 23 seconds. and Uran by 29.

#19 133.5 the longest stage of the tour seems to be almost a rest day for the leaders. 20 in a breakaway at98 miles then 20 @60 then20 @30 then ( @ 7 ill some really try to go for the win. Edvard Bossen Hagen pushes to the leading wins just his 3rd ever stage win in the T D F. from teamDimension Data. Froome still in yellow with the others close behind going into the 14 mile time trial in Marselles. Can he add more time to pad his lead?

#29 A TT in Marseilles of 14 miles. Will Froome do his best? At the end of the TT !st is Macie Bodnar 2nd - Kwiatkowski + 1
    3rd - Froome - + 6 4th - Tony Martin - + 14.
Froome nows leads by 54 seconds as he did well in adding to his lead. On Sun. Linda might try to gap the 3rd place in the tour because he is only 1 second behind and just that far from being on the 3rd step of the podium of finishers!

    Re: 2017 Tour de France

#21 the last day of the T D F. As expected Froome and Team Sky win in the last "parade day" and the race into Paris. The 2nd place finisher URAN was 54 seconds back. 3rd was Bardet 2:20 back with Landa 4th just 1 second back of that. I think it was a fun 3 week race to watch in the daily race winners and how the teams work for the leaders and keep adjusting strategies to allow certain racers into their specialities of sprint or climbing or leadouts.
Thanx for all that have followed my feeble attempts at journalism. See you next year.
