Stage #4 is a time trial of 11.5 miles with some long inclines that are not usually in TT races. With over 100 racers it takes a while to see who has the best time and who retains the lead. The best time of the day is Wout Poels in 25 min. 33 sec. Marc Soler +11 sec. and Alaphlipe +16.
Sanchez still leads the race by 15 seconds over Poels and by 26 over Alaphlipe

#5 102.5 miles today. Snow at the sides of most of the roads but clear traction for the riders. 4 in a B> A> with 4 min. lead 40 miles out. They have 2min.24 at 10 miles and news Pollit pulls away at that point. Soon at the last king of the mt. [KOM]area J. Cousin takes the lead to capture the KOM jersey and then drops back to draft Pollit most of the way to the finish and does not help by pulling thru and aiding. 7 mi. to go and they both have 59 sec. lead and at the line Cousin sprints past Pollit to win the stage. All the leaders were in the Peloton and remain in the same positions.

A long climb to go with 10% - 15 % grades to tough it out, 53 MPH on the downhills when Pols crashes very hard into a guard rail on a hard left turn & drops out of the ace at this point. 10 riders with 2 mi. to go. A fresh Rudy Molard sprints away an keeps his lead to win the stage.

Re: Paris - Nice bike race 2018

#8 last day of this spring tour - 68.3 miles of cold -51 and rain. Mud & rocks on the road in the mountains! Three are out the front at 17 mi. to go by 55 secs. 7 miles to go 49 secs. The 3 are DeLa Cruz - Fraile - Soler. The overall leader - Yates seems to slow on an up grade and drops off of the 5 he has beeb with. The front 3 are driving hard and Soler must be ahead of Yates by more than 34 secs. at the line to go from 6th at the start of today to possibly WIN the race! At the line it's 1st De La Cruz 2nd Fraile and 3rd 3 sec. back is Soler ------- in the last 1/3 mile the pack of riders with Yates pushes hard but, Yates finishes 38 seconds back to lose his overall lead to Soler who wins the race as leader!.. Over 8 days of hard, wet, cols racing Solerwins by 4 seconds! Very interesting race watching.
